This deck is designed for Thor to go hunting for minions to aid with threat removal while he builds. Thor's massive health allows for you to also take a punch while you work.
The first part of the process is to find a minion by playing Defender of the Nine Realms or Looking for Trouble once a round if possible. With the extra copies of virtually the same card you will likely pull one of these cards every turn and multiple later in the game. Get Over Here often allows you to grab a minion from another hero to trigger this as well.
Thor card draw ability triggers and you are now at 5 cards minimum. You often will engage with a minion during the villain phase and you also will have Asgard eventually. It is not uncommon to have 8 cards in hand after finding your minion.
This makes for some quick building with all of Thor's upgrades. Priority is Quincarrier and God of Thunderto help build but more importantly setup the next phase of the plan.
Lightning Strike: With Quincarrier and both God of Thunder out, Lightning Strike will hit for 1 damage before ever discarding cards. Deft Focus or Martial Prowess being out will allow you to play the Lightning strike for free.
Counterattack and "You'll Pay for That!" are the other phase of the build. With Thor's Helmet you'll have 19 health to work with. When you inevitably get punched in the face while exhausted, Counterattack hits the villain right back for massive damage. Thor can take it all. "You'll Pay for That!" helps manage the threat. With all the minion pulling, you'll flip quite a bit as you build. Down Time is a huge here. 12 recovery in a flip down turn if unexhausted allows you pop back up and keep on hitting with minimal threat.
Moment of Triumph is great to pair with Hammer Throw or Lightning Strike for a quick heal as well. This often can give you an extra turn in hero form before having to heal.
You'll eventually stop putting tokens on Hall of Heroes because of how many minions you will be killing.
Team-Building Exercise is a great help to building if you can get it down early. Avengers Mansion is a must play if you haven't managed to find Asgard or For Asgard!
Wasp and Hulk were chosen for their cost (you don't have resources to spare) and attack abilities. Hulk can also sometimes can take 2 attacks from villains.
This hasn't been tested solo but works great with Leadership and Justice decks.
If you are playing with another hero, having them throw in an Endurance for you or having them play Deft Focus or Down Time for you can allow you to fit in a couple of Battle Fury that is very useful in GMW scenarios.
