WARNING!!!
THIS IS A MEME DECK MEANT TO PUSH THE LIMITS OF 4-PLAYER MARVEL CHAMPIONS
PROCEED WITH CAUTION
The Catling Gun 2.0
Introduction
Welcome back, friends, to the continuation of my previous thought experiment deck list. The premise remains the same, yet the limit of what we can achieve is oh-so-much higher!
You may have noticed that I refer to this deck in the title as "Gran-Gran's Revenge." That's because we make use of this hilarious protection card FFG just revealed.
"But SalTheGamerPal, isn't this a Leadership deck?" you ask. Correct! See that single copy of Make the Call? Yeah. We're calling Gran-Gran for backup!
The Goal
The aim of this deck is simple: Attack with Black Cat for as much damage as possible. With 4-player shenanigans allowing us to play 3 copies of Gran-Gran, this combo becomes even more absurd!
The Setup
In order to reach the absolute ceiling of what this deck can do, you need a very specific setup, as follows. Note that this kind of setup is unrealistic to pull off perfectly in a real game of Marvel Champions. Theoretically, this is the absolute maximum damage the deck can do (with help of course).
If you don't care about the absurd setup, feel free to skip this section to read about how to actually perform the combo.
First, you need to build three specific support decks for the other 3 players to pilot (or yourself, if you want to try this 4-handed solo... which... why would you?).
- Ant-Man Protection, with Gran-Gran, 3x Everyday Hero, Helicarrier, Avengers Mansion, and 3x Honorary Avenger. Note that you can substitute this hero with any other hero that has the Civilian trait and the Avenger trait, such as Spectrum.
- Any Guardian Hero Protection, with Gran-Gran, Helicarrier, Avengers Mansion, and Honorary Guardian.
- Any Avenger Hero Protection, with Gran-Gran, Helicarrier, Avengers Mansion, and Honorary Avenger.
- Make sure you have a copy of Sidearm and a copy of Agent 13 somewhere in the supporting decks.
Next, you need the following cards set up in your or your friends' play areas:
- Black Cat
- Cell Phone
- 3x Avengers Mansion (your friends')
- 3x Helicarrier (your friends')
- The Triskelion, so we have enough housing for the neighborhood Grannies.
- 3x Gran-Gran (from using Make the Call to play her from your friends' discard piles)
- 3x Command Team
- 3x R&D Facility
- Mighty Avengers
- Quincarrier
- 2x Web-Shooter
- Agent 13 (your friend's)
- Clarity of Purpose (attach to your Hero)
- 3x Leadership Skill
- 3x Everyday Hero (in Ant-Man's hand while he is in Alter Ego)
This gives us access to 11 resources that don't come from our hand, which is very important.
Then, make sure these upgrades are attached to Black Cat:
- Honorary Avenger (from a friend)
- Honorary Guardian (from a friend)
- Sidearm (from a friend)
- Sky Cycle
- Power Gloves
- Laser Blaster
- Inspired
- Sidekick
- Clarity of Purpose
This ensures our Black Cat has a base attack of 6, if we count Power Gloves (we do).
Finally, the combo assumes that these cards are in your hand going into your turn. Note that you have a handsize of 9 (thanks Gran-Gran!) and +3 cards from your friends' Avengers Mansions, for a total hand size of 12 cards.
Combo hand:
- Lead from the Front
- Face the Past
- 3x Side-by-Side
- 3x Get Ready
- 3x Earth's Mightiest Heroes
- Last Stand
- 3x Inspiring Presence (drawn from Face the Past during the combo)
And that's it! Doesn't seem so hard to get setup...
The Combo Turn
And here we are folks. Thanks to the power of Gran-Gran (and friendship), we now have oodles of cards in our hand. Cards that we will turn into damage through the machine that is... The Catling Gun!
1) Activate R&D Facility 3 times, bringing Black Cat's attack up to 9.
2) Activate Cell Phone, targeting your friend's Agent 13, who attacks for 2 (running total damage this turn = 2). Agent 13 also readies our R&D Facility, which we use on Black Cat to bring her attack up to 10. The power of friendship!
3) Play Lead from the Front, using 2 of our 11 onboard resources (9 left), and bringing Black Cat to 11 attack, and our hero to 3 attack.
4) Attack with Black Cat for 11 damage and Spider-Man for 3 damage (running total = 16).
5) Play Side-by-Side #1, which readies our hero and Black Cat and gives both +1 attack (B.C. is at 12, and Spidey is at 4. This also uses 2 of our resources (7 left).
6) Attack with our hero for 4 and Black Cat for 12 (total = 32).
7) Play Side-by-Side #2 for the twin ready and +1 attack. We have 5 resources left.
8) Attack with only Black Cat for 13 (total = 45).
9) Play Earth's Mightiest Heroes #1 to exhaust Spidey and ready B.C.
10) Attack for 13 (total = 58).
11) Play Side-by-Side #3, attacking with only Black Cat for 14 (total = 72). We have 3 resources left.
12) Play Earth's Mightiest Heroes #2, ready and attack with Black Cat for 14 (total = 86).
13) Play Face the Past, taking 3 damage from Vulture, readying Spidey, and drawing 3 cards.
Ready to break triple digits? Here we go!
14) Play Earth's Mightiest Heroes #3, ready and attack with Black Cat for 14 (total = 100).
15) Play Get Ready and attack for 14. Do this 3 times for 42 damage (total = 142).
16) Play Inspiring Presence, eating a resource and attacking for 14. Do this 3 times for 42 damage, using up our last resources (total = 184).
17) Activate Sky Cycle to ready and attack for 14 (total = 198).
18) Ask your friend (nicely) if they will use their C.I.T.T. to ready Black Cat, then attack for 14 (total = 212).
19) Remember those 3x Leadership Skills we have on board? Make sure you use those for free +9 damage, bringing our grand to total to...
221 Damage!

I hope you enjoyed this goofy, silly deck write up as much as I did. Until the next whacky idea!
