Nelson All Over Cards did a great youtube video on deck building with Hard Knocks. His deck is pretty awesome, and definitely inspired me to want to give it a go!

Hard Knocks is awesome! It’s a fair amount of damage, but sometimes, you have a 5 health minion, and you don’t want to do an activation. Or sometimes we just need a minion to target!

This deck tries to even out the consistency by using aggression, and Jessica Drew has some great ways for us to be able to do that.

First off, this deck kinda attempts to be a tough lock deck because Contaminant Immunity, Hard Knocks, and Muster Courage all give toughs out. This means you can have a taunt in there and probably still summon a tough for the villain phase.

But all these cards are expensive! Spider-Woman has two resource generators, and this deck has Quincarrier, Martial Prowess, and cards to help get any of those out quicker. That’s four resources to be able to play a few aspect cards.

Even better, if you need extra damage output for Hard Knocks, you can use Warrior Skill and Aggressive Energy to help push Hard Knocks to do 6 or 7 damage.

But we need someone to beat up! Looking for Trouble and Angela are here to the rescue. They help get minions into play so we can smack them around.

Enjoy being tough locked, at least until you deal with an enemy who’s piercing…so…not Crossbones :p (just kidding, you can still knock him out with this deck, no weapon stays around with THAT many wild resources)

Edit: So, while Specialized Training does work with Spider-Woman giving her a likely 4-stat, my intention was Superpower Training to help get a Finesse out faster. You can do whichever you want, or you can break 40-cards and have them both.

Definitely post this in the comments to try to get it in the community deck for hard knocks video. Really cool looking deck and love the name pun.

Thanks so much, @tunic2011! And for the heads up about commenting it. I love his video series. It’s a cool way to get people into the deck building side of the game.

Finally got time to play this, and it was really strong. I only had 5 minions to kill vs. Expert Absorbing Man, but Hard Knocks was used twice during my first pass to great advantage. I did enjoy switching Professor X or Clea for Deft Focus.
