Aggro deck made to ready, ready, ready and punch, punch, punch. Once you set up a little it can become absolutely insane! With this deck, you're looking to keep things under control until you're ready to punch 4 - 5 times a turn for an incredible amount of dmg!
To setup a huge turn: put atk upgrades in play, put carriers in play, and an avenger ally; wait for the right moment, then play Maximum Velocity, attack, ready, attack, play Always Be Running, attack, play Earth's Mightiest Heroes, attack...
To max out your damage output: use Adrenaline Rush, Combat Training, Reinforced Sinew, Maximum Velocity. A couple upgrades in play results in 3 dmg per punch; with all 3 upgrades + Maximum Velocity, that's 6 dmg per punch (altough you discard Adrenaline Rush afterwards)... using only Quicksilver's super speed, that's an easy 12 dmg, and you haven't even played your "get ready" cards yet.
You can dream about getting all 3 Adrenaline Rush in play, Combat Training, Reinforced Sinew and Maximum Velocity for 8 dmg punches, but altough it can be done, getting 2 -3 of all those cards in play is more realistic.
With 4 Always Be Running and 3 Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and cheap avengers to target with EMH, odds are you'll be able to pull off huge turns quite a few times.
Thwart?
Of course this deck is made for setting up huge bursts of damage, but what about thwarting? Until you're ready to destroy the villain, you still need to keep things under control. Your options:
- use Double Time to thwart twice;
- use Into the Fray on weakened minions;
- put Hyper Perception into play, thwart twice (or more) a turn;
- use Maximum Velocity, thwart twice (or more!);
- use Nick Fury, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, War Machine to help you thwart.
Lots of options, shouldn't be too hard to keep it all under control.
Minions
Since you want to keep punching the villain as much as possible, the ideal is to use Into the Fray or Relentless Assault to get rid of minions, or Double Time.
Resources
You don't want to have to pay Always Be Running with another Always Be Running. So, best option is to use Friction Resistance to fuel it all up. It is even better than the carriers because it readies when you do, letting you pay for every Always Be Running you need, or even your 1-costed upgrades before your first attack.
Survival
Quicksilver's weak point: low hp, low recovery. Because you can use his "Super Speed" every phase, you can block and then ready every turn, so Accelerated Reflex is kind of a must. I also included Endurance and Down Time to make him a little more manageable. Blocking with allies (not your EMH targets!!) will also make it that much easier to survive.
allies
Use Fury to draw cards and max out your chances to get Always Be Running;Spider-Girl and Hulk as cheap EMH targets; Mockingbird for the usual stun then block; Spider-Man is good for a 3 THW when he comes into play; War Machine for block, 2 THW, block. Unsure what to make of Scarlet Witch as the results vary wildly.I's say keep her as EMH target with Hulk and Spider Girl. Too many to attack with Hulk, I don't take that chance anymore LOL.
It all makes a fun aggro combo deck. Have fun!
Nice deck it deserves more.
