Avengers Annual 10

Rogue's first appearance and her fight with the Avengers.

This is theme deck based upon the comic book - Avengers Annual 10 Not the most effective deck, necessarily, and a whopping 50 cards. But Rogue was just beginning her heroic future at this time in her hero career, so she still needs some learning on how to be a hero.

The idea - Rogue steals the powers of the Avengers to defeat the villain. She is not with the x-men yet, so no x-men cards such as the x-jet or x-mansion. Also no x-men allies (unfortunately we still have to have Gambit in the deck).

The idea is to keep touching allies until we know enough about them that we can imitate their knowledge and abilities (eventually playing Honorary Avenger on Rogue).

We want to drain our Avengers so multiple copies of Clarity of Purpose is here to be put on an ally and drain their health for resources. We can heal them up with United We Stand and Rally the Troops. Team Training also gives those allies an additional health point to drain. We can also drain our heroes with Strength In Numbers to draw more cards and Avenger Me! to draw more cards. Avenger Me! does require the avenger trait.

Avengers, however, always want to help so occasionally they may activate on their own or jump in front of the villain to stop an attack.

Quinjet is great to play and let it built up tokens to play an expensive avenger, but is really helps out with Organizational Support. It does require the Avenger trait to play.

Allies - we went with the avengers that were in Annual number 10. We are missing Scarlet Witch as she is not in leadership or basic. We are also missing the Beast (but since he does not have the Avengers trait we left him out).

This deck offers a couple of challenges:

1. Can you play this deck without ever using Gambit as an ally (only using him as a resource for other cards)?

2. Can you play this deck without ever activating an Avenger ally? Drain them only with clarity of purpose and block?
