Happy Holidays! This deck was created for the Marvel Champions Secret Santa deck exchange that KennedyHawk from Marvel Champions Monthly organized. My giftee was up for anything, so based on their collection, I built an Ant-Man Protection deck.

As a note, this deck was built without using Thor, Hulk, Quicksilver, Gamora, Drax, Nebula, War Machine, Valkyrie, Vision, or Storm.

It's Not Regifting, It's Repurposing!

Ant-Man is good at only two things. Doing everything and healing. Repurpose leverages those strengths by letting him do more of everything, while also readying often to take advantage of stat boosts.

First, the tech. Energy Barrier and Forcefield Generator are the main targets for Repurpose. The Power of Protection is in there to help pay for them. Plasma Pistol is backup tech, but it could be dropped if you felt you had enough. Wrist Gauntlets and Ant-Man's Helmet are also tech, so both can be used in case of emergency or as closers (it better be a massive emergency if you're ditching his helmet, though).

Next, the readies. Repurpose, What Doesn't Kill Me, and Ready to Rumble are your primary readies. Then you also have Swarm Tactics and Earth's Mightiest Heroes as situational readies. Earth's Mightiest Heroes will work with Blade, Brother Voodoo, or Wasp on the board.

Keeping healthy. What Doesn't Kill Me requires healing to function, so you are face tanking a lot of hits here. These are first mitigated by Energy Barrier and Forcefield Generator, and then healed with What Doesn't Kill Me, Pym Particles, and Ant-Man's Helmet.

Final Notes

If you're looking at modifying this deck using a full collection, some notable cards to consider would be Leading Blow from Drax (take advantage of the Repurpose and Giant Strength stat boosts for extra readies), Victor Mancha from Vision (another Earth's Mightiest Heroes target), and Electrostatic Armor from Hulk (1 cost tech).

I've had a lot of fun playing around with this deck. Ant-Man is a top hero for me, and Protection is my favorite aspect. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
