Venom is the total package. His kit is incredibly versatile from using his guns to adapt stats on the fly, his extra draw options in both forms, his baked in ability to stun and confuse, his insane healing potential, and his incredible passive that generates a every phase gives him total control on maximizing his turns. This list aims to highlight every strength Venom brings to the table and make you nigh unstoppable with some of the best defense in the game.

Utilizing the full potential of Venom's Pistol we can boost not only his Atk and Thw values, but also his Def to crazy heights when fully kitted out. Stacking both, plus Armored Vest, and Booster Boots lets you casually block 6 damage! This lets you easily take advantage of cards like Hard to Ignore and Unflappable for threat control and even more cards.

Things get really interesting when Spider-Sense hits the table and cards like Get Behind Me! and Bait and Switch effectively pay for themselves for the card you draw. You can even use Bait to trigger Hard and Flap on your turn, then ready and use them again on the villains turn for double value.

Helicarrier combined with Symbiotic Bond allows you to meet the requirements of Savage Attack, Behind Enemy Lines, and most importantly Grasping Tendrils without having to stress about running specific resources. Despite the list lacking in this synergy keeps tendrils online.

To round out our event suite we have Side Step when things get dicey or you take damage from sources outside of combat, this card is always useful and Shake it Off for those rare times you do take damage from an attack. Shake also pulls double duty being usable on Groot letting him last even longer as an amazing blocker.

Finishing off the list we have the allies Clea for reliable blocking and Nick Fury doing what he does best, paying for himself and taking a big hit for the team. Endurance and The Night Nurse keep you healthy and the party status free.

Venom can look expensive on paper with his higher than average card costs but by keeping your health up you should be able to use Bond every turn to get those bigger cards on the table or make big plays using Run and Gun to finish the fight.

Venom's ability to pay for Sidestep and Get Behind Me with a damage is not to be underestimated. It is extremely potent. I am somewhat surprised to not see Desperate Defense on the list, especially with Unflappable making an appearance. Tho I suppose Defend plus Side Step equals no damage most times anyway. Nice combo with Groot and Shake It Off. Having seen Ally Groot with the occasional Tough status shake a TON of villain attacks, seems a good choice.

My only suggestion would be cut 1 bait and switch for a Med Team. Keep Groot and Flash healthy. Night Nurse is good, but I fell like you will want more. And with 3x Hard to Ignore and the Multigun I don't think Threat is your biggest issue here. I'd recommend Second Wind but Med Team pulls double duty healing Groot as well.
