Hex and Repeat

This deck is inspired by VillainTheory’s video top 10 miss understood heroes explained where he argues that players don’t use Hex Bolt enough. This deck focuses on recurring Hex Bolt as often as possible, turning Wanda into a mid‑to‑late‑game spell machine making it rain Hex Bolts.

Game plan Overview

Early on, you rely on teammates (and your allies) to keep the board stable while you assemble your engine. You build up your board and set out to dominate mid-late game.

Your goal is simple:

Early Game

Scarlet Witch’s alter‑ego ability accelerates your setup. This is support by cards like Nick Fury and Maria Hill. And you cruise to your deck.

If you find Ms. Marvel early, don’t hesitate to recur Chaos Magic, it surges your setup speed and gets your Hex Bolt factory online sooner. In fact early game I would not play Hex Bolt and always choose to recur Chaos Magic. To use this for Avengers Mansion or Mission Leader.

Keep in mind that while no attachments are added to Ms. Marvel you have to be sparse using her and probably cannot even use Command Team so use it on Nick Fury or Maria Hill after adding Avenge Me!

During this phase, you contribute by:

Hex Bolt, Hex Bolt, Hex Bolt and you guessed it Hex Bolt!

When you have all your setup cards along with enough Supports and Upgrades to thin your deck. Scarlet Witch is ready to make it rain.

Recur your Hex Bolt as often as possible while you it is of course a bit random use your Scarlet Witch and Scarlet Witch's Crest ability wisely. Involve your team in your decision as your turns can be quite long, considering you playing 3 to 4 Hex Bolts consistently. If you end up with many card draws consider the Molecular Decay

Card Justifications

Supports & Upgrades

  • Avengers Mansion - Key Chaos Magic target and provides great resources for your team.
  • Helicarrier - Multiplayer powerhouse; supports your team during the early game when you rely on them.
  • Mission Leader - Great support, deck thinning, and consistent value.
  • Suit Up - Speeds up finding Ms. Marvel and/or her upgrades; later it can fetch any other ally based on needs and Avenge Me!.
  • The Circe - Only amazing when paired with Chaos Magic but can accelerate your self or a team member.

Allies

  • Kaluu - If you miss Hex Bolt (or Chaos magic), Kaluu finds it.
  • Hope Summers - If you miss Hex Bolt (or Chaos magic), Hope finds it.
  • Nick Fury - Accelerates setup and works beautifully with Summoning Spell.

Summary

This Scarlet Witch deck wants to recur Hex Bolt and does so doing:

Possible Tweaks

Rapid Response This is the main flex slot. It can generate incredible tempo:

  • Play Nick Fury → draw 3
  • Attach Avenge Me!.
  • Defend with Nick → draw 2
  • Trigger Rapid Response → Nick enters again → draw 3
  • Use him as a blocker again

This can also work with Maria Hill and this will even give the team 4 cards and you can add Avenge Me! in your turn and defeat her with consequential damage for another 2 cards.

However, despite the potential, this combo is rare in practice but it is really awesome.

Other candidates to cut:

  • The Circe since you need to Chaos Magic card to effectively play it.
  • Suit Up - You cycle so fast that finding Ms. Marvel and upgrades is rarely an issue.

Honorary Avenger is a card I actually cut from the deck, it doesn’t provide that much tempo and near the end game you usually have though status card. You will just to heal Ms. Marvel but can immediately switch back to attach Avenge Me!.

Why Not More Resource Cards?

You don’t need Power of Leadership or extra resource generators. Once you start chaining Hex Bolts, you draw so many cards that additional resources become unnecessary. The deck’s natural draw engine is more than enough.
