With the reveal of all the fun toys Echo was bringing Protection, I was super eager to return to the slow-to-setup speedster. I am also a giant fan of no-ally decks so the focus can be on the (track)star of the show!

More DEF cards means more hero time and less AE time spent licking my wounds after the villain wallops poor 'silver's starting 1 defense. The Best Offense... and In Harm's Way let us use all that DEF to consistently push the game state and help Pietro go from 0-60 very quickly.

I am a big fan of Stand Alone combined with Taunt. When defending in the villain phase, I prefer to use Quicksilver's hero ability to ready post-attack instead of hoping for a villain attack encounter card to ready off Stand Alone. Taunting for a ready in the hero phase instead is much more enjoyable! And obviously there would be more fun uses for it in multiplayer by defending for the first player.

What Doesn't Kill Me and The Night Nurse are great staples for Quicksilver for when damage/status get through, particularly in the early stages. Anything to ward off flipping down - though a copy of Ready for a Fight is always nice to have on standby should you need to take a break as Pietro.

Ronin combined with Electrostatic Armor and Quicksilver's opportunity to defend twice (or more with Stand Alone!) means the retaliate damage can add up.

I often find myself neglecting to play his ATK and THW upgrades, instead relying on The Best Offense... and Maximum Velocity to buff up his stats to deal with moment-to-moment threats (or push endgame). They have always felt too expensive and unnecessary.

I tried to keep the cost curve relatively low, so as to focus on getting the important DEF tools in play ASAP while also being able to afford to deal with threats each turn (usually by playing one or three of his 10 ready events or dropping a massive In Harm's Way). Double resources mostly exist to help get the resource generators into play, and I have definitely had turns where I spent them on 1-cost cards.

Nothing new with this hero in this deck, but try to secure Friction Resistance as early as possible. Pretty much all of my games with this deck have stabilized reasonably quickly, but it is so much more smooth the earlier that is out. Plus the obvious synergy with Nurse and RFAF.

Now hurry up and show the villain who the (track)star is!

I built almost the exact same deck earlier today! Great minds think alike.
