Spider-Ham: Adequate Defense
This deck provides an adequate defense because Hammy doesn't want a perfect defense! He wants to take at least 1 damage, so rather than trying to negate all damage, this deck just wants to reduce the damage as much as possible, using:
- Northstar
- Defiance
- Preemptive Strike
- Energy Shields can go on Northstar, Peter Parker, and Scarlet Spider. You'll almost always have an to pay for them with your counters.
- Scarlet Spider can soak damage for you, so send any "unwanted" damage to him, then prevent it with Energy Shield.

- Northstar for the "free" boost cancelling
- Scarlet Spider for the damage soak
- Peter Parker for the readies
...so I'm not running the "full suite" of WEB allies. Hopefully you'll be able to play Silk early to "get her out of the way". Unless there's something worse than Shadow of the Past in the encounter deck, use her ability to get rid of it because his Nemesis can be devastating!
Taunt and Petulant Pig will draw you cards to find your allies.
Grab Front Line Specialist with Specialized Training so you can also draw a card when an enemy smacks you around.
