Tigra is uniquely positioned to make great use of Ready for a Fight. Use Hunted and Pinned Down to invalidate minions, then use them for economy and damage.
Won't See This Coming

- start by summoning minions with Hunted, starting from turn 1. Because you get to pick the minion, prioritize minions with 2 attack or less, without guard/patrol, and that don't have any bad effects when they're in play. Bonus if you take minions out of the deck with quickstrike or bad When Revealed: effects, so they don't flip on you later
- play Pinned Down on these minions when you have it in hand. For me, this usually results in 3 pinned down minions in the first deck pass.
- you'll probably have to defend a few of the Villain's attacks at first, counting on minion stuns to get you through till you get them all Pinned Down
- minions engaged with you are increased hand size, and Cat's Head Amulet starts generating powerful economy for you to play down even more economy cards.
- once you have Practiced Plan and Ready for a Fight, you can start into the cycle of flipping to Alter-Ego every turn. Here's how things go from now on...
Cycle of Pain

- you start in Alter-ego, with 6 cards in hand.
- on the beginning of the Villain's turn, they move to scheme against you. You discard Ready for a Fight (possibly bouncing it back to hand with Practiced Plan) and then the Villain attacks you. Defend or take it on your tough, or have Nick Fury/Professor X block for you.
- minions attack you, but you should take no damage, or very little damage.
- reveal the encounter card. (if it's a minion, you'll kill it. If it's a side scheme, you'll thwart it. If it's an extra villain activation, you'll survive it.)
- then your turn begins, you draw 3 more cards from engaged minions (now 9) and an extra one if you've played Avengers Mansion. The more you build out, the more likely you are to see Tooth and Claw.
- play Tooth and Claw as many times as you're able, targeting un-Pinned Down minions, or just the Villain
- use extra resources to build out.
- if you didn't defend, use your basic activation (almost always attack).
- flip down to Alter-ego (getting a tough from Hidden Base if you happen to have it)
- use Precinct HQ to thwart for 4 (or more), destroying whatever side-scheme you revealed (or keep the main in check)
- use Enhanced Physique or Quincarrier or Cat's Head Amulet to play Ready for a Fight back out.
- grab one unused copy of Hunted and use it to pay for another upgrade/support or to heal with Dr. Sinclair
- then draw up to 6 and do it all over again
Twice as Nice

- Tigra's outstanding economy allows you to put out expensive allies, like White Widow (who will heal for 1-2 each cycle, because of preparations triggered)
- Rogue is another great ally, who can touch Tigra for +2 attack or touch White Widow for additional thwart. Heal Rogue (or Tigra in a pinch) with Med Team
- alternatively, Rogue can touch Professor X or Nick Fury and get extra juice from cycling allies
- didn't find myself playing Moon Knight much once I had my three minions. Once you have 3, you don't want more (and his fantastic early-game utility drops off when you have to kill whatever he brings out).
- Deft Focus can be used to play all of Tigra's events (though I didn't find myself needing Feline Senses very much), and her two Cat-Like Reflexes.
- once your deck is thinned out, you will be decking out every turn or every other turn. This makes it guaranteed to keep the Ready for a Fight cycle going, and you're playing all 3 copies of Tooth and Claw each deck pass for almost nothing. The Villain cannot withstand.
- Dr. Sinclair and The Night Nurse can keep Stunned cards off Tigra. I leave confused cards on her... Precinct HQ isn't a Thwart and most nickle-and-dime thwarting can be managed by allies.

And that's the deck. Hope you have fun playing around with it! Let me know if you have thoughts, ideas, or questions. I plan to continue to name future decks after cards from one of my other favorite tabletop games, Spirit Island.

Oct 21, 2025All good. Next year! Love the writeup and art btw. You always do a great job explaining your decks. |
Oct 21, 2025Here for the Spirit Island reference. Hell yeah. |
Oct 21, 2025Also, I forgot to mention that you should leave one copy of Hunted not attached to any minion. Since Hunted is a mental resource, every time you flip to Alter-Ego, you get that one extra card in your hand to spend for anything (but it can especially be used for Dr. Sinclair) |
Love this! Pinned Down and Ready for a Fight are such a good combo for her!
