SP//DR has a really weak card draw. His very strong character cards make up for that. So what you want is a lot of card draw to get them early.
Spiders and Card Draw is the name of the game. Use Energy Barrier when the vilian attacks to finish of minions and get card draw from Change of Fortune.
Ready for a Fight is to go save into alter ego to prevent double activations - but not to spam it.
Use Med Team to keep Spider-Man alive or your Venom ally.
Specialized Training is really good here as it gives you +1 to a stat and card draw. Also SP//DR is really good in thwarting so it can handle the 5 extra thread.
