Okay, just to be clear : this card is bad !
It should cost 0 or deal more damage as a reward. BUT, I like the idea and the (very small) archetype of "spamming small ATTACK events" :)
Gamora does it best, and it's a pretty fun mini-game to allocate all your 1 to 2 damage in the best way possible to kill all minions every turn.
Overview :
- Play Style : Playing a lot of cheap ATTACK events every turn
- Difficulty : Medium
- Power level : Medium to low
- Recommended Player Count : 3-4 (see below for 1-2)
- Ideal Aspect Partner : Justice or Leadership
I tried this deck in solo, 2p and 3p vs "medium difficulty villains" in Expert.
Even though Gamora is very versatile is performed poorly in solo even though I got about 75% win rate.
In 2p it got much better but not crazy good.
In 3p (and probably even more so in 4p) it is pretty good because it can deal a lot of damage to a lot of enemies without wasting much damage by overkilling.
Concept :
- Play all your supports and upgrades as quickly as you can.
- Play allies or Precision Strike to stay alive.
- Play 1 Test the Defense whenever your don't have one.
- Spam your cheap ATTACK events.
- Get more damage than you pay for thanks to Test the Defense and Gamora's Sword.
- Boost your ATK to 6 (base, Combat Training, 2 Fluid Motion, Combat Specialist) and ready with C.I.T.T..
Other combos and how to play the deck :
- All ATTACK events cost 1 or less to play (Clobber is effectively a 1-cost if played first) and you won't often play Decisive Blow in this deck.
- Though you can still do well without minions, you need some to maximize your events (especially Get Over Here!), that's why 3-4 players is best. Or just play 2p with Star-Lord.
- The 2 The Power in All of Us pay for your supports and allies at the beginning. Then, they fuel your C.I.T.T. (see relevant FAQ).
- Lock and Load is how you get your Sword for free.
- You often have to force yourself to play Test the Defense but, in this deck, and if you are defended by allies/heroes, it will get value :)
Other cards and recommandations :
- Play around with the ATTACK events and their numbers depending on your liking, team composition and villain. It's not a rigid deck, some might even say it is a very Fluid deck.....
- Press the Advantage is super good if your teammates have confuse/stun.
- Toe to Toe can be good if your teammate have enough heal/allies/defenses.
- You might reduce your number of allies and Knowhere if your friends got you covered to reach 40 cards.
- 2 copies of Test the Defense might be enough, it's just for redundancy and make sure you'll find one quickly once you used one :)
- Energy Spear is very good on Bug but...I needed to cut cards for the (worst) Test the Defense :p
1-2 players :
- Play all the Guardian allies you can (Angela, Bug, Groot, Martinex, other ?) and Knowhere.
- Angela puts minions in play if you do not have one already.
- Looking for Trouble might also be worth it as it solves both your problems.
- Crew Quarters is nice, with Conditioning Room it gives you a total of 4 HP every time you go in Alter-ego.
Have fun ! ;)
Appreciate a like/fav :)
As journeyman pointed me out, Turn the Tide is also nice as a cheap ATTACK, though I would not include it in multiplayer where the goal is to basic attack with Gamora most of the time.
I also forgot to mention ATTACK events I playtested in other aspects because none of them was really more useful than Aggression events here for what I had in mind :)
