X-23 is Down to Clown

So often, we get so distracted by the big things in life, like Honed Technique, that we forget to enjoy the little things. But it's those little things that really matter. Especially when you're using them to boost X-23's ATK so we can trounce that villain faster than you can say Dive Bomb.

The key here, is we have a fairly low-costed deck with lots of tiny attacks, all of which will help us. Let's break it down:

  • One by One is great for some nice damage that also helps us deal with minions
  • Precision Strike helps us heal since we want to keep taking damage every turn. X-23 heals pretty well, but it's nice to have the option
  • Press the Advantage is ok damage, but will help us draw cards is we happen upon it while Professor X has the villain confused.

None of these are that impressive on their own. But with Fluid Motion out, we can really go to town on the villain. In order to get maximum use out of all of our Fluid Motion cards, we need to play three of our attack events, but with Martial Prowess and Grim Resolve helping us, we should be able to achieve that once our deck is thinned out. Most of the time we can at least hit two Fluid Motions, but even that is well worth it!

On some turns with full Fluid Motion, we could see X-23's ATK jump up to 4 (5 with Combat Training or Combat Specialist out). Then with X-23's Claws, we can ready and hit for even more. And if Honey Badger can ready her, we can swing again!

Speaking of, let's not leave out Honey Badger! For her, we have some Attack Training to help her stick around and punch a bit harder and X-Mansion for some healing.

For side schemes, Specialized Training really sings, and is easy to clear thanks to Animal Instinct and X-23's ability to ready. I went with Superpower Training because I felt Pain Tolerance and Grim Resolve really help kick things into gear, but I could see an argument for Build Support or any of the other schemes.

For allies, I have Professor X for the option to confuse or ready Honey Badger, and the occasional block. As mentioned, the confuse also helps us with Press the Advantage Deadpool just asked nicely, so we said he could come.

That's the basic, straightforward idea. Most of the other cards are there to fuel the engine. So go ahead, leave those big number cards at home, and appreciate the little things and all the stabby things they can do.

Professor X does not Ready her correct? She is X-Force

@Doc7 correct but she can ready little Honey Badger and then activate with Badger which can ready X-23 on the consequential damage if its not lethal damage. But I suspect the Confuse and chump is the stronger play against most villains.
