"What kind of idiotic plan is this?"

I wanted to make a deck that solves one of Spider-Hams problems, and that's making sure other people at the table are having as much fun as you are!

A fun Multiplayer strategy using the new card from Mutant Genesis Powerful Punch! The concept of this deck is simple, using Powerful Punch and Preemptive Strike we have 6 copies of cards we can use to redirect attacks from are teammates directly at our hero. Both of these are defense cards that don't require us to already be defending, the target of the attack, or taking damage to activate, so once we play them we'll be the new defender and take the punches away from our teammates! You being a distraction gives them plenty of room to set up and control any problems the villian throws your way.

"Okay, but who is dumb enough to use themselves as a punching bag?"

Enter Spider-Ham. Spider-Ham is great for this strategy for a couple reasons. For one, he likes being hit, every time he takes damage you add another toon counter to the pile. Additionally, using his REC to heal back from punches also gives you toon counters. That combined with the Endurance and Down Time buffs we're playing on him, and Cartoon Physics to tone down any particularly nasty attacks, makes us a great damage sponge and provides consistent economy!

"Well, does anyone have any better ideas?"

Backing him up you have the ever popular casts of Web-Warrior allies that you'll be able to utilize effectively with your toon counters. Additionally, these make great ways to contribute to board control yourself, and give chump blockers to your Teammates on turns you flip down to recover. Thwip! Thwip! is another avenue to do this, while it and Spider-Tingle both just have an easy time keeping the Toon counters flowing for you. Team-Building Exercise works for these guys as well as a huge part of our kit, so it's an obvious include. The Night Nurse is a solid 40th card, it can help keep statuses off allies so they can get back to furthering your plan and letting you distract the Villian.

"Trust me, this is gonna workout fine"

Some general strategy tips here. I'd recommend saving your Cartoon Physics for when using Powerful Punch, as normally you're going to be able to control and manage the damage from using Preemptive Strike quite well. Cartoon Physics is also likely going to be the frequent target for Ghost-Spider and Americat due to how well it works with your aspect cards. Don't worry as much about using allies last health for chump blocking instead of THW or ATK, you have several in the deck and your own healing and damage mitigation is quite strong in it's own right, so be mindful when you see some problems on board you'd like to take care of.

That's all for today! The only new card you're using is Powerful Punch, but I'm glad we're getting more defense cards designed with the attack redirection mechanics in mind. Hopefully we'll see more in the future to really let protection have some options to serve this role in the future. Also, this Spider-Ham deck does a good job of helping other players at the table shine too, which some people might be looking for in their Ham lists :)

Happy playing!
