Intro:
Joining Forces is a 4 cost Leadership card that brings out an Avenger ally and a Guardian ally from the hands of anyone in the group. In this case, the whole group is Star-Lord solo. But hey, What Could Go Wrong?
Here's how we'll exploit Joining Forces with Star-Lord:
-
1) Use Call for Aid to get out Black Panther as quickly as possible.
-
2) Hold on to a Guardian ally (preferably Gamora).
-
2) Get Rapid Response and Regroup on the board.
-
3) Pull Joining Forces from the discard pile with Black Panther, or wait for it to come to your hand.
-
4) Play Joining Forces with What Could Go Wrong? when an Avenger ally comes into your hand.
-
5) Attack or thwart with Black Panther, then bring him back with Rapid Response.
-
6) Pull Joining Forces from the discard pile with Black Panther.
-
7) When the Guardian and Avenger allies die, use Regroup. Start the whole process over.
The other way to start this process is to get an Avenger and Guardian ally on the board, then use Regroup when Joining Forces comes into your hand.
Multiplayer:
Here are the changes I'd make in multiplayer:
-
3 copies of Joining Forces and Rapid Response.
-
Make sure your friends have the highest cost Avenger and Guardian allies in their hands. Like Giant-Man, Venom, Captain America, and Martyr.
-
I'd add Nick Fury and Maria Hill, and take out Rocket Raccoon and Kaluu.
Bonus:
- There are 20 resources in this deck. Captain Marvel loves . If you have Command Team and Rapid Response when you play here, you'll most likely get 15 damage out of her and 2 stunned enemies in one turn. She's phenomenal! Choose her whenever you can with Joining Forces.
This deck gives you a totally different way to play Star-Lord, and the game itself. Give it a try, and I hope you have fun!
Nice deck, I thought of this but with a slightly different approach. One question tho, Avenger allies are considered guardians too in Star Lord´s hand, in order to play two avengers with Joining Forces? I thought so, and created a deck with three copies of Joining Forces and a bunch of avenger allies, but upon seeing your deck, I have doubts. Thanks!
