I've been playing with the current environment lately and I stumbled across a fun Gamora deck. People often describe Gamora as evergreen and as a character who gets stronger with larger collections. While that is true, Gamora's hero kit makes her very strong even with a more limited card pool.
The strategy is simple. Use protection's Hidden Base, Patriot, and "Come Get Me, Bub!" to have cheap or renewable toughs. Ready for a Fight allows us to safely flip down to AE, where we can draw up to larger hand size, heal a little from Conditioning Room, and flip back into hero form with a tough protecting us.
We have lots options when we flip, too. Counter-Punch, Chase Them Down, and Crosscounter are all interrupts or responses we can trigger in the villain phase, giving us access to additional Finesse and Precision triggers. Excelsior can deal some extra damage after we defend and our volume of defensive damage options makes Change of Fortune very viable. Draw more cards so you can play more events!
In the player phase, we're looking for either Gamora's signature events (possibly powered up by what we did in the villain phase) or Firepower. Excelsior and Gamora's Sword are the best long-term value weapons in the deck, but there are also 2x Stun Gun to boost up Firepower faster. Remember there is no Side Holster in the current environment, so you can only have two weapons equipped at a time, but it's still a great value attack card. The Stun Guns also double as some extra, emergency, protection; stunning either a minion or the villain.
And that's about it. You can swap out one or two aggression events for Infiltration if the scenario is lower on minions. I have The Power of Protection in this deck, instead of Genius since the deck has cards requiring and resources, but no , so an extra goes towards both. The deck is also cheap, with only 10 cards which are 2 cost or higher, so being down a double is fine.
I hope you give this deck a try and enjoy!
