Superhuman She-Hulk
With this deck I want to get one (or preferably both) of my Superhuman Strength Upgrades into play and keep it/them there for as long as possible. I need Stuns to do that, so...
- Mockingbird gives me one
- Iron Fist gives me two
- 3X Stun Guns give me three. These were Tackle for a long time in testing. I liked the damage I got out of Tackle, but Stun Gun costs less and I can park two of them on the table, waiting to use them until I get Superhuman Strength in play. Also, while I want Yellow Jacket to find Superhuman Strength, he may now find Stun Gun too, whereas he couldn't find Tackle!
If I can attack for 5 or 7 without losing Superhuman Strength my readies becomes even more valuable:
- Leading Blow dulls the first attack a bit, but it's a ready!
- Limitless Stamina
- One-Two Punch
- What Doesn't Kill Me
I also really like Ready for a Fight with She-Hulk because she can Object to the Step 1 threat increase and then flip up to dealing her "Lift?" damage!
She-Hulk has 15 HP (18 with Endurance), so she can tank some Taunted attacks for the card draw, and this just ramps up her Gamma Slam damage!
What's Missing?
If I had space I'd probably like Stronger Together, but I'd only really use it on Yellow Jacket to prevent his 2 Consequential damage. This would let him thwart for 2 more times, but I think that really only matters in Solo.
Mostly Multiplayer
I've won a handful of solo games with this deck but because she's lacking in the Thwart department they always ended up being "outpace the Main" games.
I played some multiplayer games with her this morning and with just one other player in the game who can handle threat she becomes a damage beast!
Why it works
For anyone who doesn't know why this works, it's because of the "Valid Target" ruling: If I can't Stun the attacked enemy (because they're already stunned, they're Stalwart, or the attack defeats them) then the effect of Superhuman Strength doesn't have a valid target. Since there's no valid target I don't have to pay the cost which, in this case, is discarding Superhuman Strength!
