While he's a pretty awful hero, Hulk as an ally is quite formidable. That's why I decided that if I can't be the Hulk, I will have a Hulk.
---------- Description ----------
The goal here is to make Hulk a Voltron ally, and Adam Warlock, as the Avatar of Life, is a perfect fit for the job.
As Adam chooses Hulk as his cosmic champion, we ponder what the green giant will need to have to be up for the challenge. We must choose our cards carefully, knowing that we will need to have as few mental resources as possible, to prevent the Hulk from turning back into puny Banner and being discarded, and as many physical resources as possible to let Hulk SMASH (i.e. trigger the best option of his Forced Response, 2 damage to an enemy) every time he attacks.
First, Adam must find a way to call upon his powerful ally as easily as possible. If a Call for Aid isn't enough, he can also order the Hulk to Suit Up, or hope to meet him on a Chance Encounter.
Second, Adam will use the power cosmic to make the Hulk truly unstoppable. He'll use his Leadership Skill, he'll make Hulk a Honorary Guardian, he'll make him Inspired and of course he'll make him Enraged, he'll equip him with a conjured Reinforced Suit and Sidearm, and he'll use a Med Team to keep him alive. And he can join combat as well, so that Adam and Hulk will fight As One!
Should a mental resource be drawn after Hulk attacks (5 cards out of 40, 1 chance in 8), Adam can use his Quantum Magic to call him back. This, coupled with Adam Warlock's inherent ability to dig deep into his deck, should ensure that our gamma champion is around most of the time, while Adam simply focuses on being a Battle Mage, thwarting and avoiding damage with his Defensive Conditioning, his Judoka Skill, stunning the villain with Tackle and Drop Kick, and by making minions harmless by keeping them Pinned Down.
From time to time, Adam can also steal the spotlight and take direct action by Waylaying the villain, making a Surprise Attack, or by dealing a Concussive Blow or shooting a Karmic Blast. Oh and by the way, Pip the Troll is bringing a couple of friends, a Beat Cop and a Skilled Investigator on board a Helicarrier. Cosmic magic or whatever, I guess. They're doing a fine job so we'll just let them stick around.

This is a fun, easy, surprisingly efficient deck (beat all Core Expert villains and The Mad Titan's Shadow with it so far) that works very well both in Solo and multiplayer. Simply build your Hulk and enjoy him smashing things (if you're lucky enough, he'll be dealing at least 5 damage each turn), you'll take care of the rest using Adam Warlock's extraordinary versatility.
Excelsior!

Jan 09, 2026This is a great suggestion, Energy Spear is much better than Enraged, but it's also locked behind Honorary Guardian which may have been discarded earlier (Warlock mills the deck a lot). Usually, I prefer reliability over strong combos hard to pull off, also I wouldn't trade a physical icon (Enraged) for an energy icon (Energy Spear). Warlock can easily heal allies by discarding Protection cards, so I actually don't mind 1 more consequential damage. But I would consider Energy Spear as a replacement of As One! |
Since you have Honorary Guardian, have you thought about replacing Enraged with Energy Spear?
