"The villain Maniraises by 2, so I Manifold!"
"...I'm not sure you understand the rules of this game correctly..."
Overview :
- Play Style : Ally recursion and Player Side Schemes for the table.
- Fun: Very high (support the others :) )
- Difficulty : Medium
- Power level : Medium by herself, very strong support though!
- Recommended Player Count : 3 or 4 (see 1-2 variant below ;) )
- Ideal Aspect Partner : Aggression and Protection (ask them to bring all the PSS they can, including basic ones).
Concept :
No doubles??? No but it should be ok, it'll only be a problem for Finesse and Avengers Mansion, after that you won't really need them anyway... You can add Energy if you want, it was nice to have but not essential (see at the end).
- Ask your teamamtes to bring every PSS available to them.
- Play all those PSSs (Player Side Schemes) either directly or by recursing Manifold many times with Chance Encounter and Rapid Response.
- Clean PSSs (and normal side schemes) easily with allies and Even the Odds.
- Make your teammates draw with Mission Leader and Skilled Investigator.
- Generate resources to play Spider-Woman strong colorful events, then thwart some more and defend your allies/teammates.
Combos :
- THE GOAL IS NOT TO PLAY HER EVENTS as you usually would :)
- You should have 2 to 3 (usually 3) in your stats each turn. Defend, unless you have a Contaminant Immunity in hand to heal/toughen you up next round. Your allies can block attacks but only if you have no other choice.
- Of course you have Manifold + PSSs + Chance Encounter + Quinjet + Rapid Response. When you defeat a side scheme with Chance Encounter attached, you go find Manifold, then use a Quinjet to put him into play and go find another PSS to play.
- Then try not to defeat this PSS right now so you can make your teammates draw next turn too with Mission Leader and Skilled Investigator. Plus it lets you place another Chance Encounter on it.
- Rapid Response and Quinjet can be used for Manifold and Captain Marvel, but not for White Tiger because she needs to be played.
- Use Stinger as a battery for Strength In Numbers. Your other allies (including Cpt Marvel) are also batteries but you'll need to gauge each turn if you need them to die or not, especially Manifold.
- Team-Building Exercise is very important because, when you're not the first player, it lets you play either a Quinjet or Manifold before you go. Giving a PSS to a teammate or accumulating a charge at the start of your actual turn on Quinjet.
- If you give a PSS to another player with Manifold, choose a player who's still to play, and maybe keep Even the Odds and 2 resources available.
- Remember to use your Finesse with...finesse. You don't want to draw an Even the Odds during your turn with no way to pay for it.
Early game :
- Mulligan for (in order): Any ally + Finesse or Team-Building Exercise + any PSS.
- Focus on playing Finesse, TBE, Skilled Investigators and Mission Leader asap.
- Then play any PSS so you don't waste a potential Even the Odds next turn.
- Play Quinjets to start paying for Manifold and/or Captain Marvel.
- Don't play Avengers Mansion or Captain Marvel early unless you have nothing else to do. You'll have much more resources (and Quinjets) later on ;)
Other cards :
-
For solo, the deck can still be viable: you can swap up to 3 Even the Odds with trusty Clear the Area or For Justice!, take out 2 Skilled Investigator, add 2 allies (Wiccan and Quake were nice because they are AVENGERs). I haven't tried with One Way or Another but it should obviously be strong,
-
Energy was useful, especially during setup and to pay a second Even the Odds per turn. But not necessary mid-late game.
-
Face the Past is good because The Viper is soft.
-
Practiced Plan can help with recursion.
-
Mighty Avengers was very good but was cut.
Anyway, enjoy, have fun,
and don't forget to drop a like/fav, it's always appreciated :)
