Is your Champions experience growing dull?

Do you feel like your decks have grown so incredbly still that they are practically invisible?

Are you looking for something spicy to mix things up?

Are none of those things true, and you're just interested in this deck?

Well, have I got news for you! Introducing Draxpool! Not what you were expecting? Well, it probably should have been, because the names in the title. Either way. Sit back, relax, and let me try and sell you on this fun way to play Drax.

Drax already wants to punch hard multiple times a turn. Between his Vengance counters and Drax's Knife, he can hit for 5 damage per activation. With "Fight Me, Coward!" allowing for multiple activations per turn. So we made a few obvious additions. C.I.T.T. and Stick-To-Itiveness gives you 3 activations a turn. With Limitless Stamina giving additional readies for some big burst turns. 20+ damage in a single turn is not uncommon. Play a copy or two of Adrenaline Rush throught the game, and trigger it on those big turns and you can ramp up the damage even further.

With DWI Theet Mastery out, you can draw an extra card for each one of those activations, and Drax's hero ability giving you an additional card as well, you can see 8+ cards a turn. Thus really increasing your chances of finding those ready actions and Knife Leap to really drop the Villians health down quick. Once set up, you can take out a whole stage of a villian in a single turn. On top of that, Gamora adds additional card draw to help speed up that set up.

But what about draxes weaknesses? You say. Well I'm glad you asked. Drax has two major issues to overcome. Survival, and Threat. Let's talk about how the deck adresses those. Drax will almost exclusively use his activation to defend in the early game, while he sets up. But once the switch is flipped he will try and tank a lot of the damage coming at him. So we really want to keep Mantis alive to help drax heal. Enter Tic-Tac-Toe. You can heal up to 7 damage from mantis over the course of the game with this card. and when you finally hit that 7th spot, you get bonus burst damage as well. And each time you heal Mantis, that's effectively 3 damage healed from drax. That sounds like a win to me. And if need be, you can allways go to Break Time. On top of that, Healing Factor gives drax some extra healing each turn as well. With all this in mind, keeping drax alive won't be difficult.

Now thwart is a bit harder to deal with. But not without answers. Rocket Raccoon and Headpool both give you a 2 thwart stat. And both have the flexibility to benefit from minions should they show up. Headpool in particular will almost never leave play unless you want him to. Giving you a consistent 2 thwart a turn. That's huge. Not to mention that Blackout is there as a resource sink as well. It's a little more expensive, but it can do in a pinch. And if nothing else, you can rely on Drax's pure Intimidation. To come through. Especially when your drawing nearly a fourth of your deck each turn. Another option in the deck is Civic Duty. Just like Adrenaline Rush, Civic Duty sits on the table untill you need it. Just discard it and drax can remove a surprisingly decent amount of threat if need be. Not perfect. But it works for most scenarios. The best solution is to play with somebody else and let the other player take care of threat. Just tell them it's Not my Responsibility.

A few additional things to consider before taking this bad boy for a spin. Unshakable and Endurance are great if you can get them out. But not a must in every scenario. Also, be sure to muligan hard for your key pieces. DWI Theet Mastery, ready action upgrades/supports, and thwarting ally are all must plays early on. getting them quickly makes a huge difference. Vertually everything else can wait untill your second deck pass if you have to.

With that beings said, I hope I've done enough to convince you that this style of Drax is worth checking out. If so, I'ed love to hear how it goes. Good luck, And have fun.

Quick note. My current version doesn't include Rock, Paper, Scissors. I just forgot to remove it from the list.
