Inspector Groot is here to whammy away your threat issues. Building up growth counters to unleash "I am Groot" with Passion for Justice and Overwatch and you're burning 11+11 threat; which even in 4 player; is close to clearing most of the strong Player side schemes.
"Think Fast!", Upside the Head and the Sonic Rifle are great status appliers, especially in combination to stun and confuse the villain at once.
Meditation I use to play the more expensive allies - Wraith (as his boost cancel can be clutch); Quasar, Rocket Raccoon and even the Grootcarrier.
Groot having 14 superpowers (only Fertile Ground isn't) makes him the best target for Deft Focus.
Knowhere is droppable; I'd play this deck with https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/50134/star-lord-priming-nova-prime-1.0 and https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/50137/gamora-attack-attack-attack-1.0 so there's more Guardian allies coming.
