Player Type: Johnny - The Rule of Cool Deck Type: Smoothie - A Blend of Aspect / Hero Main Player Counts: 1 Can Do: 1, 2 player(s) Key Cards: Keen Instincts, Skilled Investigator, and Gamora’s Sword
Overview
You know what is better than using an ability once? Using it twice! The intention of this deck is to be a love letter to Gamora’s ability to be a jack-of-all-trade. If you plan ahead a bit, you can get some really big turns with things triggering off each other.
Misc Tips and tricks
- While you could easily clear out all of the side scheme, you want to be strategic about when you clear side schemes (i.e. using 100% of your brain power!). For example only defeating one side scheme per round so that you can maximize skilled investigator. Acceleration Token side schemes are the easiest ones to keep around as you will have plenty of threat removal
- I would mulligan for Skilled Investigator / Keen Instincts. Cards to consider keeping include Build Support, Nebula, or Chance Encounter
- You can use Basic Defense + True grit + Turn the Tide Combo on the villain phase. Now that is using 100% of her ability!
- Finesse / Precision are not considered Attacks / Thwarts. This means that you don't get hit with retaliate, but it also doesn't trigger Turn the Tide
- Set the Pace and Acrobatic Move. Try not to use them as resource cards unless you have already used your Finesse / Precision abilities
- Specialized Training for either DEF / THW upgrade. I would probably lean more towards the DEF upgrade. DEF Upgrade allows you to basic defense each turn and ensure you can use True Grit each turn.
- Superpower Training to get Sword / Keen Instincts if you need it. If you have all 3 of them, you can keep around Superpower Training as a safety for Masterplan or Caught Off Guard
- If you draw Turn the Tide via Skilled Investigator & True Grit via Defense Specialist, you can still play those two cards as the timing window is still open
- If you need a resource card from Nebula’s response, consider picking Forward Momentum or Momentum Shift
- Quincarrier gets played via Build Support. Quincarrier is particularly useful in paying for costs associated with getting rid of Villain attachments
Sideboard
A couple of ideas of things you can swap if you prefer
- Quincarrier => Helicarrier, Knowhere (especially if you put in more guardian allies)
- Chance Encounter => Eros, Martinex, Cosmo, Groot. If you want more consistency in your deck
- Multitasking => Clear the Area. Clear the area is a good alternative. I found that multi-tasking is particularly helpful in stabilizing the early game and clearing out side schemes (via One Way or Another or your Personal Side Schemes)

Dec 24, 2024Thanks Even though I've played this deck a couple dozen times, even I still get nervous playing a deck without any allies! |
Love the clear and concise write up. Love all the new Gamora decks recently!
