Hi welcome to the twenty ninth in a series of decks I plan to build directly influenced by the amazing Get Up and Game! Perfect Match-Up series found here: https://youtu.be/1I2q3sT6FoA Please check out the channel and the video since I thought it was an amazing gift to the community and it inspired me to start playing Champions more regularly.

My goal with this series is to create a unique deck inspired by each challenge match-up in the video using all the suggested cards plus some of my own to create a deck that any player can use to check out the challenge. If you’re missing some cards from a deck please ask in the comments and I’ll do my best to find replacements from your collection so that you can have fun too! Hopefully I can build a deck that can beat the villain on both standard and expert. I’ll try to document any tweaks I made while playing the deck too.

We're getting into the harder match ups now but thankfully we're also getting tougher heroes. This was both my very first time playing and building a deck for Storm and my very first time going up against Mansion Attack. My first Standard game was a little wonky as I got the hang of using my Weather Deck to swing the game in the direction I wanted and also learning what the various members of the Brotherhood could do to me. Thankfully Storm hits hard and fast and it was easy taking down two members of the Brotherhood. Unfortunately this burst down method did not work for taking down THREE B side villains and I lost my first two back to back Expert games! I considered switching out the cards in my deck but instead decided to change up my strategy and play defensively focusing on keeping my board under control and slowly building Storm's power up. This lead to two tough but satisfying back to back wins on Expert including one where I got into a knife fight with Storm's Nemesis.

The deck is a relatively straightforward yet flexible protection deck that relies on allies and defensive upgrades to keep Storm in the fight long term. Storm can manage threat and deal damage with her various weather specials and events so on a long term scale, you will eventually win as long as you focus on the most immediate problems. Any game with Mystique can swing widely against you so you always have to be prepared to take her down. You also really want to watch out for the various side schemes, especially The Brotherhood which you need to dispatch as soon as you see it.

Get out Storm's Cape and Storm's Crown will get your engine started letting Storm ready, increase her THW and DEF and provide additional resources. Deft Focus will help you play her various superpowers and The X-Jet can provide even more resources. You will probably need to flip down from time to time so Ororo's Garden is another good target to keep you healed up and The Night Nurse can get rid of status' and heal too. You can also apply Protective Training to your allies and Pinned Down to your enemies.

Mutant Protectors works great with Professor X and Multiple Man but all of your allies are valuable for both chumping and attacking. Its possible for Rockslide to have 3 retaliate when supported by Storm at the Cafeteria.

This is a tough match but if you take your time and steady the board, you can come out on top. Obviously any fight with Mystique involved is a toss up but I will encourage you that I drew Mystique on turn 1 and Shadow of the Past on Turn 3 in my final Expert game and still pulled out the win! Make sure you know the different Scheme bonuses and the various villain attack punishments and if you act accordingly you'll pull out wins too! Good Luck!
