I am HIM... not born of man and woman! I was created to be invincible! And those who made me... made me well! - Adam Warlock: Thor Vol 1 #166
What now?
Well, now we have fun!
The deck is the odd number of 41 cards. I know that's uncommon in Marvel Champions, but the deck trims to 24 cards (26 with Cosmic Ward).
Let's break it down
-
3 Allies - Kaluu will help you to find the event you need. Jocasta will hold your Shield Spell for when you need it, and Pip the Troll will protect you.
-
17 Events - using Eternity, In-Betweener, Living Tribunal and The Gardener will reduce your events number to 13 cards. All other events, with the exception of Quantum Magic and Go All Out are there to help you cycle through your deck (I will explain the inclusion of Go All Out later).
-
4 Resources - one for each aspect, maximising your ways of triggering Battle Mage.
-
3 Supports - Avengers Mansion helps you cycle through the deck faster. Helicarrier allows you to play cards cheaply. Soul World is simply broken, even more broken in this deck... As a bonus, you will trim another 3 cards from your deck.
-
14 Upgrades - I know... A LOT of upgrades. And all of them, with the exception of 2x Cosmic Ward, are permanent. Deft Focus, Karmic Staff, Martial Prowess, and Sense of Justice are resource-generating/cost-reducing, so you can play multiple events each round. Armored Vest, Combat Training and Heroic Intuition will boost your base Def, Att and Thw by one (very important in this deck). The Sorcerer Supreme will expand your hand size in Hero form to 6 and Symbiote Suit will boost all your basic powers by 1, increase your hand size by 1 regardless if you are in Hero or Alter-Ego form, and it will give you 10 extra Hit Points (the extra encounter card each turn is a small price to pay for all this).
Why is Symbiote Suit included in the deck
Symbiote Suit not simply gives you +1 to all of your basic stats, but also it gives you +10 Hit Points. Combine this with Soul World, and you have a healing power of 21 Hit Points.
Why is Go All Out included in the deck
After you use one of Adam Warlock's basic powers to Attack, Thwart, or Defense, you use Battle Mage - Leadership, giving additional +1 Def, Att and Thw (on top of all +1s from the upgrades) and ready Adam Warlock using Warlock's Cape, use Go All Out (don't forget the 1 resource requirement), Exhaust Adam Warlock and deal 13 damage.
Combine this with all the events you can play each turn, this deck has a lot of punch balanced with enough Thwart power to win you any game.
Epilogue: 41 cards deck irritates me
If you find it irritating playing a deck with 41 cards, remove Spiritual Meditation from the deck to round it down to 40 cards (23 after set-up is completed (25 with Cosmic Ward)).

Jan 12, 2023I never said "spend". The resources are just there to help you play the ability you want ( : |

Choose carefully what you MUST to do this turn, lay down the supports and the upgrades, enjoy your win. As simple as that. |
Very interesting use of Go All Out!
Just fyi, where you say the resources are for Battle Mage, Battle Mage states you “discard” the card, not “spend” the card, so it will not trigger the responses on your unique resources
