Tested a thousand and one times against Ronan the Accuser in expert mode, and I can finally say that this deck handles Ronan even in phase III. Of course, it requires knowing the deck and its combos very well, in addition to discarding Universal Weapon through Phase Disruption.

Objective of the Deck and Cards:

Through 616 Hickory Branch Lane and two deck copies of Team-Building Exercise, you can play Jocasta for two resources attaching Mass Increase to him and avoiding all damage from the villain. For this combo and android allies alone, Vision is worth playing in protection, in turn, you can use Deft Focus to pay the cost of other superpower cards.

Steps:

  1. For the first attack you will make sure to avoid all damage by using Mass Increase. In addition, you can even deal damage to the Villain through Vision's Cape.

*If by any chance you were about to cycle the deck, keep Mass Increase linked to Jocasta, so after using it it will be in the discard deck, and you can go back link it to Jocasta recursively via 616 Hickory Branch Lane.

  1. For the second attack the villain will be stunned.

  2. For the third, defend with Jocasta and start over.

In the meantime you can play any of the android allies via 616 Hickory Branch Lane and Team-Building Exercise, depending on the circumstances and timing. of the game.

For example, Victor Mancha is a great option to defend against Ronan the Accuser as a complement to the Jocasta combo. Allows you to tap into The Power of Aggression whenever you have it in hand via 616 Hickory Branch Lane, just like you'll tap into Protector, and that together with Solar Gem or Quincarrier you may find it useful to reduce damage on occasion.

Three copies of Perseverance were included, specially adapted in Vision, being able to change identities more frequently than even Ant-Man or Wasp , and dealing damage through Vision's Cape in its dense state.

Three copies of Subdue to be able to defend yourself even in the intangible mass identity. For most superheroes Subdue is usually a bad choice, however I think it's especially suited for this character.

Three copies of Reboot, since although the basic stats of Vision do not make it particularly attractive to set him up, the fact of changing his identity to alter- ego and using 616 Hickory Branch Lane on a recurring basis, makes it interesting to set him up and use his +5 REC, as well as being able to play on any of the allies present healing 1 damage.

Lastly, and for the same reason, Crew Quarters was included. With useful science resource in Protector, just like Quincarrier or Avengers Mansion, and can even be played through the second copy of Team-Building Exercise.

Evolution:

The following commonly used cards in Vision were discarded for the following reasons:

  • Dauntless: I played with it many games and ended up discarding it. It may seem interesting to add retaliation 1 to his intangible state by wearing down minions, however, it is much more useful for the tempo of the game in most cases to stay in dense state in hero mode, and in the state of intangible mass in alter-ego. Along with a ton of other drawbacks, like the difficulty of staying above your starting health even with Endurance.

  • Any of the defense events: Although it may seem interesting on Jocasta, Mass Increase always ends up being the best option to bind her. In addition, the rest of the defense events are an inconvenience in the dynamics of the deck due to their mass identity Intangible, since they cannot be used.

  • Ready to Rumble: It is true that Vision has a special ability to change identity, however, its basic stats do not make it especially interesting unlike Spectrum .

Modifications:

Thanks to "journeyman2" who corrected me, I swapped the second skin of Vivian for Brother Voodoo, to more easily take advantage of the two copies of Team-Building Exercise and The Power of Protection, however any avenger I think could have been an option.

Testeado mil y una vez contra Ronan the Accuser en modo experto, y por fin puedo decir que este mazo controla a Ronan incluso en la fase III. Eso sí, requiere conocerse muy bien el mazo y sus combos, además de descartar Universal Weapon a través de Phase Disruption.

Objetivo del Mazo y Cartas:

A través de 616 Hickory Branch Lane y dos copias en el mazo de Team-Building Exercise, podrás jugar a Jocasta por dos recursos vinculándole Mass Increase y evitar todo el daño del villano. Solo por este combo y los aliados androide, Vision merece la pena jugarlo en protección, a su vez, podrás utilizar Deft Focus para pagar el coste de otras cartas superpoder.

Pasos:

  1. Para el primer ataque te asegurarás evitar todo el daño usando Mass Increase. Además, podrás hacerle incluso un daño al Villano a través de Vision's Cape.

*Si por casualidad estuvieras a punto de ciclar el mazo, mantén vinculado Mass Increase a Jocasta, de este modo tras usarlo quedará en el mazo de descarte, y podrás volver a vincularlo a Jocasta de manera recurrente a través de 616 Hickory Branch Lane.

  1. Para el segundo ataque el villano estará aturdido.

  2. Para el tercero, defiende con Jocasta y vuelve a empezar.

Mientras tanto podrás jugar cualquiera de los aliados androide a través de 616 Hickory Branch Lane y Team-Building Exercise, en función de las circunstancias y el momento del juego.

Por ejemplo, Victor Mancha supone una excelente opción para defenderte frente a Ronan the Accuser como complemento al combo de Jocasta. Te permite aprovechar The Power of Aggression siempre que la tengas en mano a través de 616 Hickory Branch Lane, al igual que aprovecharás a Protector, y que junto a Solar Gem o Quincarrier puede que te resulte útil reducirle un daño en alguna ocasión.

Se incluyeron tres copias de Perseverance, especialmente adaptada en Visión, pudiendo cambiar de identidad con mayor frecuencia que incluso Ant-Man o Wasp, y realizando un daño a través de Vision's Cape en su estado denso.

Tres copias de Subdue para poder defenderte incluso en la identidad de masa intangible. Para la mayoría de superhéroes Subdue suele ser una mala elección, sin embargo, pienso que está especialmente adaptada para este personaje.

Tres copias de Reboot, ya que pese a que los stats básicos de Vision no le hacen especialmente atractivo prepararle, el hecho de cambiar de identidad a alter-ego y utilizar 616 Hickory Branch Lane de manera recurrente, le hace interesante prepararle y utilizar su +5 REC, además de poder jugarse en cualquier de los aliados presentes curando 1 daño.

Por último, y por la misma razón se incluyó Crew Quarters. Con recurso ciencia útil en Protector, al igual que Quincarrier o la Avengers Mansion, y que pueden incluso jugarse a través de la segunda copia de Team-Building Exercise.

Evolución:

Se descartaron las siguientes cartas de uso común en Visión por los siguientes motivos:

  • Dauntless: estuve jugando con ella muchas partidas y la acabé desechando. Puede parecer interesante el hecho de añadir represalia 1 en su estado intangible desgastando los esbirros, sin embargo, resulta mucho más útil para el compás de la partida en la mayoría de la ocasiones permanecer en estado denso en modo héroe, y en estado de masa intangible en alter-ego. Además de muchísimos otros inconvenientes, como la dificultad de permanecer con una vida superior a la inicial incluso con Endurance.

  • Cualquiera de los eventos defensa: aunque pueda parecer interesante en Jocasta, Mass Increase siempre acaba siendo la mejor opción para vincularla. Además, el resto de eventos defensa resultan un inconveniente en la dinámica del mazo debido a su identidad de masa Intangible, al no poderlos usar.

  • Ready to Rumble: es verdad que Vision tiene una especial facilidad para cambiar de identidad, sin embargo, sus stats básicos no le hacen especialmente interesante al contrario que Spectrum.

Modificaciones:

Gracias a "journeyman2" que me corrigió, intercambié la segunda apariencia de Vivian por Brother Voodoo, por aprovechar con mayor facilidad las dos copias de Team-Building Exercise y The Power of Protection, sin embargo, cualquier vengador pienso que podría haber sido una opción.

Nice! Perseverance and Team-Building Exercise are great tech here! I’m not sure if having both Vivians is legal according to the unique rules though

Unique: “A player cannot include more than one copy of each unique card (by title) in their deck.”

Both Vivians are unique and share the same title so the basic Vivian cannot be included. Same for Iron Man using the basic War Machine ally etc. :(

Gracias por la aclaración @journeyman2! Y buenas opciones @SpiderPK para intercambiar esa carta :) Yo también pensé en Blade para jugarlo de manera gratuita aprovechando Team-Building Exercise, y tener la posibilidad de atacar sin daño derivado con Quincarrier o Solar Gem.

Great deck, very well done. I wonder, switchting out War Machine for Vivian and The Power in All of Us for The Power of Protection for a quicker setup would work as well. Or is The Power of Protection cruical for bringing out Jocasta?

@Toek You bring up a good point about Jocasta. There’s only one defense event in the deck. It’s a really good one, but does it warrant running her outside of theme?

I mean, I really like the combo with Mass Increase and the Team-Building Exercises and would keep her. But I wonder, if you can setup the supports, Machine Man and Warmachine quicker in the early game with The Power in All of Us and use Jocasta + Mass Increase and the Teambuildings for the middle / late game. I suggested #Warmachine, because he is an avenger and shares trait for teambuilding and he is a another proable science resource for Protector.

I understand what you say @Toek. In total there would be six cards with which to play The Power in All of Us prioritizing the early game, and Machine Man being able to play through 616 Hickory Branch Lane . But I don't think the deck has such a bad early game that I would sacrifice The Power of Protection for six basic cards. I would personally prioritize the three protection android allies, because taking advantage of The Power of Protection throughout the game playing all three allies is very satisfying, otherwise, you will only have the choice of Machine Man, and as long as it is not on the table.

@MiguelCantillo3 Yeah, I can see that. Little sidenote, in my Suggestion it would be 7 neutral cards (+warmachine -Vivian), so you Could use the power of all in us for machine man and warmachine. But i guess, your initial Version is the better one. :)

Can you really pay for Mass Increase with Deft Focus? Deft Focus is a Hero Action, so you can't use it during the Villain phase to pay for a defense event, even if it is a "Superpower". Helicarrier has a similar limitation. You could use Solar Gem or Nerves of Steel, though the latter wouldn't be worth including without any other DEFENSE events.
