It's no secret that our boy Peter Quill is one of the most bombastic heroes to grace champions this year, and he can be built in some remarkable ways in Leadership, Justice, and Aggression but today I bring you last but not least Protection into the mix.

Star-Lord may not have very good defenses, but thanks to Venom we now have multiple sources of Tough to keep us in the fight and shrug off the nastiest Fanatical slams from Ronan.

For allies we keep it simple with Multiple Man who is pretty easy to get on the board with "What could go wrong?" and the other ultimate defender Groot to keep enemies at bay.

Our cache of events is where things get pretty interesting. Hard Knocks is a card clearly made for Quill, he is even showcased in the art. The card is very feast or famine, meaning when you pop a minion and get that tough its amazing but 3 for 4 damage isn't stellar. Luckily with the support of your Element Gun you can soften larger targets like Starsharks to set up the perfect finish with Knocks.

Shake it Off pulls double duty and giving both you and Groot tough again and again. This combined with Med Team should you both fighting fit to shrug off the biggest hits in the game.

Side Step to me is one of those cards that's just going to always be good for a long time. It's ability to be used against ANY form of damage is unmatched, even if this deck isn't too good at spending for it, it's still well worth it.

Ever Vigilant is a card I strongly feel is being slept on, and I think in the current state of the game Star-Lord capitalizes the hardest combined with Leader of the Guardians. With a base of 3 Thwart (with Leader) Vigilant offers 8 threat removal for 2. That's some of the best value in the entire game!

Knowhere allows you to keep all 3 Multiple Man in play along with Groot and you can still find room to drop Nova Prime to deal with any big surprises if one of your MM drops.

Lastly one of the best things about Star-Lord is you don't have to feel bad running 3 copies of cards because any turn you become flooded, just use them as ammo for Element Gun and blow your opposition away.

So if you want to take and deal hits like a Rock'em Sock'em Robot, shred threat like nobodies business, and heal/defend for your team like a champ, then look no further.
