"Is the Sun coming up? Then put him on the left!"

Sentry and the Helicarrier

This deck is about keeping Sentry on the table all game next to your helicarriers.

The first way to keep Sunshine on the field is by using S.H.I.E.L.D. Director to put a counter on the The Pericles and then using it to 1) put a tough on Sentry (to prevent consequential damage) and 2) stun the Villain. A three card combo that does 3 damage every turn and stun locks the Villain!

The second way is with Field Agent. Thanks to Maria's Hero ability, we can use it to prevent consequential damage on Sentry allowing him to attack for 3 every turn. And now he can also be used for Homeland Intervention. And remember that Homeland Intervention is a S.H.I.E.L.D. card so it also triggers Sky-Destroyer!

Mulligan

Although it is not the only opening, many games you do want to dump your entire hand for doubles and the The Iliad/The Pericles. Keep it restocked with counters from Field Agents and Maria's Reassignment ability until you play S.H.I.E.L.D. Director.

Economy

S.H.I.E.L.D. Director and Helicarrier are the only economy you have. You need to play at least one of them in the first deck pass. On the other hand, if you have both of them in your starting hand along with any of your five doubles then you are probably in for a good game. Remember that S.H.I.E.L.D. Director can put a counter on Helicarrier while you wait for a big ship. Maria can move those counters to a real helicarrier later on.

Counters are your real economy. In one game I used Special Funding to pay for The Triskelion and felt completely fine about "wasting a double" because it let Sky-Destroyer deal 2 damage to the Villain...but then Maria moved the counter to The Iliad which did another 5 damage to the Villain!

Using Nick Fury to move a counter from Field Agent to The Pericles each turn is satisfying. And the Team-Up is broken if you can pull it off!

Probably not gonna go three deck passes

This deck cycles very slowly so think of Build Support and Evaluate Threat as ways to get things back from your discard pile that you had to discard to play a ginormous ship. Evaluate Threat gets you The Iliad/The Bellerophon/The Pericles from your discard pile. Build Support gets you Helicarrier or Sky-Destroyer.

If you have a six-cost boat in hand and need one more resource to play it, you can use Maria's Alter-Ego Action to grab a Surveillance Team to pay. Monica can put it into play from your discard pile later anyway.

Testing

This deck originally started as a Wiccan+Field Agent deck until Sentry repeatedly stole the show in a dozen Solo Expert matches with Drang, Hela (plus the side schemes from Galactic Artifacts), Mutagen Formula (with Guerilla Tactics instead of Goblin Gimmicks), and Taskmaster (with Sitcom instead of Weapon Master). I have enjoyed seeing how it can be played so differently based on your starting hand and the different Villains you face. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! Let me know who you faced and how it did!
