This is a super straightforward deck for X-23. You’ll be doing everything she loves: readying, healing, readying… did I mention readying?
I wanted to build a very simple deck that is almost a no-brainer to pilot. Her kit is cheap, efficient, and incredibly effective, so this deck leans heavily into that. Everything else is here to support her core game plan.
Main points of the deck:
- Leading Blow is extremely effective once X-23's Clawsare online, and if you also play Claw Mastery, it becomes an almost guaranteed ready. What Doesn't Kill Me is fantastic here. It heals you for 2 HP (essentially paying back the Claws cost) and gives you another ready. Preemptive Strike, just like Northstar, is here for damage mitigation, because you usually don’t want to defend with your basic defense. Most villain attacks X-23 can simply take to the face.
- For resources, we run one double fist resource and 2x The Power of Protection (mainly for What Doesn’t Kill Me, Med Team, Martyr, and Northstar). Med Team keeps you, Honey Badger, and Northstar alive. Protective Training is here for Honey Badger and Northstar, since both have the X-Men trait. White Queen helps with status cards,Triage keeps your allies healthy, and Marrow is there for a little extra damage if you need it.
You can easily swap Preemptive Strike for Tackle—that works perfectly fine too. Martyr is also flexible and can be replaced by almost any ally you prefer. I just like her.
This deck was designed mainly for true solo and Standard difficulty. It’s easy to understand, easy to pilot, and I think it’s a great choice for newer players as well.
