"Who got the keys to the queendom?"
"We got the keys to the queendom."
No longer living in her brother's shadow, Shuri is the well-and-true Black Panther. Welcome to The Keys to the Queendom.
A spiritual successor to the deck I made and published for my first con last year, even down to the card count, yet the goal is the same. The aim is to utilize T'Challa's Shuri's high economy to turn that into table-wide buffs. Hand out coveted upgrades like Reinforced Suit for allies on the table along with "borrowing" from Wakanda's generous Vibranium reserves to bolster the economy of the table through Resource Reserve.
Lets talk gameplay:
Shuri has no problems building out for herself, utilizing both The Elephant's Trunk and Ingenuity. Early game, the focus is building out resources for yourself and the table. Suit Up will grab you both an early Maria Hill along with a Clarity of Purpose to begin the build out.
Cards such and Make the Call and Rapid Response will keep the recursion going and allow Maria Hill and Beast to get consistent value as you spread the philanthropy across the entire table. Recruitment Drive can serve as a solid resource sink alongside the Resource Reserve to let your fellow players shine.
Once you have a couple of generators built out (while still aiding the table, of course) you can find the perfect turn to flip down to get the secondary gameplan online: Sidekickin' T'Challa.
Once your deck has been sufficiently thinned by aiding the table, focus can shift to philanthropy to the deadly duo of destruction. Heal up with your Vibranium Suit, slash some minions with Panther Claws and do it over-and-over with a Side-by-Side. Also don't forget the classic Wakanda Forever! ;)
But most importantly of all, from the wise words of Mother Ru: "You better WERK!"
And that's it! Once Shuri was revealed to be coming to the game, I know I had to run it back again this year. A full-circle moment for sure.
Let me know if you try it out and I hope you have fun with this support-leaning Black Panther build!
Love the look of this. I’m bringing leadership Shuri this year too, she’s become a fave. Good call on adding Recruitment Drive to her. She can totally pay for it!
