The idea around this deck is to use allies to block damage from hitting Groot so you can build up growth counters to buff your basic abilities and hit hard with "I. AM. GROOT!" and remove threat with "I am Groot".

Key Cards and Tips

"Welcome Aboard": Works better with more allies in the deck, as it reduces their cost. Consider adding more if you have them! There are flexible spots in this deck (like fewer The Power of Leadership or Go All Out) if you want to adjust your ally mix.

Clarity of Purpose: Get this on Groot as early as possible. It lets you spend a growth counter (via 1 damage) for a wild resource every turn.

Make the Call: Lets you recur powerful allies from your discard pile. Note: You won’t draw from Knowhere this way, since Knowhere only triggers when you play a Guardian ally from your hand. Still, this card keeps your best allies like Yondu, Rocket Raccoon, or Maria Hill in play more often.

Inspired: Put this on Yondu for a consistent 2 damage a turn that ignores consequential damage. Feel free to add more copies if you want this combo to show up sooner.

Moxie Great for buffing Groot’s stats on turns you flip out of alter-ego, letting you refresh growth counters and then use a powered-up basic ability. Even better when you use with Entangling Vines or Vine Spikes then ready up again with Lashing Vines.

Cards like Go All Out, Knowhere or The Power of Leadership are flex slots—feel free to swap them for other cards if you add more Guardians, or if you prefer other tech/options. This list uses what’s available in my collection, but tweak to taste!
