"Does anyone need a triple resources card this turn?"
– Carol casually asks for the fifth turn in a row...
Overview :
- Play Style : Ally recursion and Resource management for the table.
- Fun: Very high (draw a lot and support the others :) )
- Difficulty : Hard (often think a turn in advance)
- Power level : Super strong (in multi and solo)
- Recommended Player Count : Any (designed for multi, but still extremely good in solo)
- Ideal Aspect Partner : Anyone who makes regular use of triple resources... :p
Concept :
An incredibly powerful deck in solo and, especially, in multiplayer: share your triples and doubles with your teammates, make them draw more, recycle their allies and maybe play them!
Domino was the first candidate but Captain Marvel can draw so much and is more reliable during setup...and she's so fun to play :)
- Use your insane draw power to rush through your deck and quickly get your key pieces on the table.
- Use Beast + Rapid Response + Practiced Plan + Regroup (+ Command Team sometimes) to recycle your Energy Absorptions again and again.
- End up with excess Resources and give them to your teammates (or future you in solo) thanks to Resource Reserve.
- Also, this is the first time playing The Circe does feel easily accessible as you can pay it with 2 cards :p
Early game :
- Focus on your resource generators, Resource Reserve and "The Beast combo" (see below).
- Among your resource generators, prioritize Alpha Flight Station and Helicarrier as they are SHIELD-traited for Agent 13. Clarity of Purpose is also a priority as it draws you 1 card per turn to cycle faster with your hero ability.
- Try to play 1+ Command Team, it will enhance the Beast combo or ready a generator thanks to Agent 13.
- You usually want to wait until you can reliably get 1-2 triples per turn to play The Circe. Not a priority but really good with very expensive allies that often get back to your hand.
- You can pretty much ignore all her identity-specific events and upgrades... And you don't get that much advantage to play them as you can just recycle them into other cards with Alpha Flight Station. Playing an Energy Channel is great as a sink though, but this is not the goal of the deck (note for solo: this is how you kill the villain quickly!!!).
- Call for Backup can find Beast/Agent 13 early on, or Nick Fury later in the game.
- Also, don't forget to remind your teammates that you can probably give them a double or a triple this turn, especially if playing last. There is a part of uncertainty sometimes but you usually can spare a triple almost every turn! ;)
The Beast full combo :
- Ideally, at the end of your turn you want to have Beast (duh), Rapid Response, Practiced Plan and Regroup on the table.
- Absorb the first villain attack with Beast, trigger Rapid Response to get him back into play, drawing an Energy Absorption doing so, and trigger Practiced Plan to get Rapid Response back in hand.
- Then absorb the next attack (or a minion attack if not enough villain attacks this round) with Beast, and put him in your hand thanks to Regroup.
- Absorb all other attack with allies (yours or your teammates').
- Next player phase, play again Beast and Rapid Response., get an Energy Absorption.
- Draw a lot with Avengers Mansion, Alpha Flight Station, your AE and hero abilities, your allies, Photonic Blast, Mission Leader, etc.
- Play a Regroup drawn this way.
- Then, either kill/play Beast again with 2 Command Team, or wait for next phase.
- In any case, you should almost always be able to spare a triple or at least a double on Resource Reserve.
- Sometimes you won't be able to do the full combo and that's okay, that's plenty of resources already. Good thing is that you'll only need 1 Command Team to kill/play him :)
- Note for solo: It still perfectly works but you lose a bit of the Regroup potential. Try to keep a non-Guard 2 ATK minion in play until the end.
Other cards :
- Make the Call is a nice plan B in case the villain can discard allies.
- Build Support is very good but you can probably convince one of your friend to bring it if you sponsor them for triples :)
Anyway, enjoy, have fun,
and don't forget to drop a like/fav, it's always appreciated :)
This will be on an upcoming episode of All Hands on Decks, we just recorded it! Awesome support deck.
