The single biggest issue with Spectrum is finding yourself stuck in an energy form and not being able to change when you want to.
This deck is designed to give you flexibility to pilot (heh!) Spectrum and do whatever you need, and is aimed at anyone who has had trouble with Spectrum or may new newer to the game. By drawing more cards you will get to her awesome signature events faster and more frequently. It has been tested against a few scenarios (at all player counts!) and has been really fun across all of them. It is fairly straightforward, but has proven to be a lot of fun to play!
Thanks to @andyr for helping me test it and providing feedback to smooth out the decklist.
1. Draw Cards
Every single ally puts at least one card into your hand. Hope Summers is the real MVP by grabbing you one of your own signature events (or Energy Duplication if it isn’t out yet). Kaluu gets you an event, which is hopefully a signature event!
But this isn't just a solo deck: Maria Hill gives everyone a card. Avengers Mansion draws more cards for you or a friend. Mission Leader also adds cards for the entire table!
2. Change Forms
Rapid Response can bring your allies back, which bring more cards back, giving you more of what you need. It is one of the most important card in this deck, and there three copies so you can always have one in play. For changing forms, it is ideal on Blue Marvel because it means changing forms is easier, when you need it! (Be aware that White Tiger has to be played from hand, so Rapid Response will not work with her.)
Stuck in a form and can’t get out? Flip to AE to reset your energy form and then go back up! Hope Summers draws you a signature (Superpower) card (like Gamma Blast, Photon Speed, or Speed of Light), meaning you can use it to change form.
3. Ready Up & Soar
Spectrum can have a beefy 3 ATK/3 THW, depending on her energy form. So let’s use it! Ready to Rumble readies you when you change energy forms. "You Got This!" also readies you, and Soaring Acrobatics boosts basic activations and pays off from the first time you play it.
Being ready for action is great!
Final notes:
-
Spectrum has lots of resources to pay for everything, including Quincarrier and Deft Focus, and two built-in resource generators, which is awesome!
-
Health can be an issue with Spectrum, but Noble Sacrifice keeps us alive and protected. Block with allies if needed, but they are generally there to get you cards and then manage whatever you need to, depending on what form you’re in.
Sideboard
-
If you're playing standard, White Tiger doesn't draw as many cards, you could replace her for another ally. Also, be aware that Rapid Response does not work on her as she has to be played from hand. Vivian is a solid substitution against certain scenarios that benefit from her ability. Vision is a versatile addition that can benefit from Spectrum's resource generation to help with thwarting and attacking.
-
In solo play, Professor X can help with safely flipping down. Cyclops can help with a damage push, especially in a 3-4p game. I would recommend swapping out another ally like White Tiger or Ironheart for either of these.
-
You could add in Strength In Numbers to use allies to fuel even more card draw, or Make the Call to add more ally recursion. I found both to not be necessary, but that is dependent on your style of play and your matchups.

Jan 23, 2025What great timing! I've also been revisiting Spectrum, and I think she's finally clicked for me. I made 4 decks so far that I really like. I agree with you that drawing cards, or finding any other way to replay her events is super strong. You got this is great here since she's got fantastic stats. She's a form flipper, great stats, fantastic resource generators, and always aerial...why doesn't she get more love???? I feel like she's like the OG version of Phoenix/Psylocke and they are among my all time favorite heroes |

Jan 23, 2025I don’t think I realized how much of a trap Pulsar can be! This is a great deck to help avoid that trap! |
Jan 23, 2025This looks like a lot of fun, might have to give it a shot soon. I’ve only ever played her in protection (we were playing wrong at the time because we thought we could share resources if they were on the field) and while she was fun I was stuck in a supportive build that didn’t have me doing very much. Her being able to reliably change forms with so much card draw looks like a blast. |

(Also hoping we get better blue aerial cards in the future too!) Thanks for the post! Love to see it! |
Jan 23, 2025I applaud you, sir, for bringing back Spectrum! I think she's a fun hero and this deck looks pretty cool. It's very ally focused, but you've got events to make use of them without just having them all stick around for blocking. I love that flexibility. Fly high! |

Jan 23, 2025Cool deck! Getting the form switch in hand is always the problem with Spectrum, but you've brought answers to that! Love the new leadership cards and soaring acrobatics too! Gonna definitely play this deck a few times |

Jan 23, 2025I’ve owned Spectrum for over a year and still haven’t tried her. This may be the deck that breaks that! |

Jan 24, 2025OKAY. Here we go. Just finished my game with this. I went 2 handed with Guerrilla Warfare. The 2 synergize nicely. I did not really need Noble Sacrifice since the Miles deck is so good with defense, but I see where its normally helpful. Only thing I changed was I added Call for Backup, which is huge for Warpath. Because I felt spicy, took on Tower Defense Heroic I with Goblin Gear. It was a LONG game, and the Tower took a beating, but managed to beat it first shot! Deck seems to be pretty smooth, and I really like the Nick + Rapid Response combo |

I did swap in a Clarity of Purpose, but otherwise the same deck. She feels so rich. Hope Summers is my best friend. I'm really appreciating Spectrum more. |
Jan 26, 2025Love how this deck looks!! Can’t wait to try it! Thanks for inspiring me to bring spectrum back to the table! You’re on fire, Boomguy! |

Jan 26, 2025Took this one for a spin, it went really well! Form change was way more consistent! |
Jan 26, 2025This deck dismantled Expert Crossbones with incredible ease. It was fun to play. Great deck, definitely gonna be playing it more. |
Jan 26, 2025Got a chance to play this last night and had a lot of fun. Great to get Spectrum back to the table after a long time, too long, and I this was hitting on everything you were calling out. |

Jan 31, 2025Dude! This was legit so much fun! I have never played Spectrum before, and to be honest I kind of wrote her and Hawkeye off for a long time. I tried Hawkeye last month and he was a lot of fun and not half as bad as people made him out to be. Spectrum is the same! This deck was versatile, and provided a lot of fun decisions, as well as pretty damn powerful, especially recurring Beast/Cyclops! Great job dude! |

Feb 03, 2025Spectrum is one of my favorite heroes and this deck plays to her strengths marvelously. You can play her in any aspect but I have a soft spot for her in Leadership, so I'm going to have to get this deck to the table! |
Feb 07, 2025This deck made me dizzy from all the flipping I was doing. Lots of fun! |
Good stuff sir! I didn't lay Spectrum for awhile and when I did recently she was alot better than I remembered. This looks great
