Was having trouble on standard Crossbones using Spider-Woman's precon so decided to try for an upgrade. Like the precon, using as few basics as possible since she's all about playing around aspects. So far has net me wins on standard Crossbones and Taskmaster, will be testing further.

This was built with a relatively small collection - just the base game, the Rise of Red Skull expansion and a few early standalone heroes.

Big differences from the precon:

  • More allies (precon only has 3, which is not enough to keep the heat off of Spider-Woman herself).
  • Took out copies of cards that are Max 1 per player, as I play solo primarily so copies aren't useful.
  • A lot more threat removal with Beat Cop - which also lets you handle minions, which lets you trigger Skilled Investigator and Interrogation Room more often - and Under Surveillance - which lets you stall main schemes enough to get your setup going.

Things I'm not sure about:

  • The allies are basically a mix of whatever I had in my collection that were playable - they don't synergize in any ways the pre-con doesn't, though the additional ones are imo pretty solid regardless even just as blockers. Feel free to sub in whatever allies you want, though I would at least keep Spider-Girl in for the synergy with Press the Advantage.
  • An earlier version of this deck had Drop Kick and "You'll Pay for That!" - the former's main effect is unplayable with this resource distribution and there's enough threat removal without the latter, so I subbed in Toe to Toe and Hall of Heroes instead. Not sure how well this will work quite yet.
  • I would really love some cards that use Aerial since the pre-con doesn't utilize that part of Self-Propelled Glide, and while the card is good on its own it would be rad to fully use it. Unfortunately I have basically no Aerial cards in my collection in these two aspects.
