The deck is designed to continuously get Shadowcat back to turn off the downsides of Live Dangerously using X-Men Instruction + Cerebro until you can get huge ATK when Unleashed + Laser Swords + Combat Specialist.
The main restriction to this will be the fact that Shadowcat can only block every other turn because the villain will SCH when you're in Alter-Ego and she has 3 HP so she won't get discarded after 2 ATK/THW. So you'll have to deal with the bad icons every other turn unless the villain has Retaliate.

Sep 11, 2024That is true. Angel and RPS are probably the cuts and just run 45. |
Sep 11, 2024Actually Get in Front of Me! is a Hero interrupt so anytime you'd be able to play it, you'd also be able to block with Shadowcat so that doesn't really help. |
Sep 11, 2024I like it alongside Cuckoos as additional ways to dodge Dark Phoenix, and if the villain is stunned from Trickery then SC misses the chump. RPS, Healing Factor, and maybe Legion? |
Sep 12, 2024Stunning the villain with Trickery when Shadowcat is in play is a player's choice so you can just not do that. You can use Utopia to ready Shadowcat on Alter-ego turns so I think that's enough ways to increase her uptime. Legion is one of the best allies printed recently, there's no way I'm cutting him. |
Sep 12, 2024Great point with Utopia! We have to flip to recur SC, and right now there is only Prof/Trickery (unleashed) to do so, making it more forced to play occasionally. We can at least recur Prof, and adding Not My/Cuckoos create safe flips, particularly vs steady wart. Gambit will help too, after next week. For me, I'd prefer the cheaper Utopia trigger in Angel>Legion, who always seems to not hit what I need him to, except in specific heroes. But totally get how it's a preference |
You can use Get Rage-Y, Not My Responsibility, and Get In Front of Me to cycle Shadowcat quicker!
