A Love Story for the Ages

If there's one thing we know about Wolverine it's that he heals a lot. Oh and he hates Deadpool. So what could be better than a 'pool aspect Wolverine deck? Their long-lived antagonism was a great inspiration for a deck and in honor of the Deadpool and Wolverine movie I'm publishing my second deck on MarvelCDB. I made this deck a few months ago and played it through the entire Mutant Genesis campaign and had a blast! Hope you love it as much as Deadpool loves Wolverine <3

Our Boy's Been Through It

So why not put him through more? Between brainwashing, murdering, torture, and experimentation Logan has had one hell of a time. So here I am making him even more f-d up with a little 'pool magic. I included Weapon X and all the 'pool cards that can do damage to him (War, Get in Front of Me!, and Not my Responsibility), and increased his healing with Healing Factor and Tic-Tac-Toe. The point of this deck is to rely heavily on the double healing from Healing Factor and take advantage of his ability to use the triple 'pool resources as well as his health and Wolverine's Claws to eventually one-shot the villain with his powerful attack events. There are two ways to play this deck depending on the villain and what order you see the cards in. As always Wolverine can play a rush strategy with his attack events, but this deck also allows for a strong build out to control the scenario. The Metagame cards are particularly good at continually controlling the board in addition to Get in Front of Me! and Not my Responsibility when you're in a tight spot. With the addition of Git Gud and Healing Factor to Wolverine's own healing and regenerating abilities, a lot has to go wrong before you lose the scenario. Eventually you should be able to cash in on that control and rush the villain with those attack events everyone loves so much.

Strategy Summary

  1. If you can literally one-shot the villain go for it (maybe play a harder villain).
  2. Mulligan (or Mulligan) for healing factor and the triple 'pool resources on the first turn. Secondarily look for any of the other 'pool upgrades and any attack events you can afford by taking 2 or less damage.
  3. Once you have your upgrades out, use them as much as possible.
  4. First pass through your deck try to keep your health up so you can take advantage of the triple 'pool resources.
  5. Second pass through your deck do all the damage!!!
