I wanted to build a deck that could take advantage of Fluid Motion, or more importantly multiple copies of Fluid Motion. I was building a failed Bishop deck when I decided that using Clobber could easily get me two instances of Fluid Motion. The concept didn't work with Bishop despite all of his resources. In part because he can't easily get the extra damage from Honed Technique. But I kept the idea around for the buzzsaw of Marvel Champions. Yours truly. X-23.
Setup
There is a bit of set up for this deck but luckily X-23 and Honey Badger are pretty good at handling problems while you do. Ideally you want to get down your Fluid Motions and Honed Technique. Combat Training will help as well and you best chance of getting the resource will come from Grim Resolve.
The Combo
You probably won't need to hit this many times once you are set up because this can finish games really fast. Play Clobber, return it and play it again. This Ideally does 10 damage and bumps X-23's ATK.
You also want to trigger X-23's Claws and play a Claw Mastery if possible. Then with your double activation and Honey Badger's ability you can pile on the damage. Every Game Time you have is usually another 10 damage which is pretty insane value.
The Other Parts
Danger Room is going to help you get Attack Training onto Honey Badger, especially if you get hit by Self-Isolation.
X-Mansion can help heal Honey Badger as well as give you a bonus draw when you cycle back cards with Mutant Education. I like to get back Claw Mastery generally but look at the situation. You might need healing from Regenerative Longevity or threat removal from Animal Instinct. The later is pretty insane when you pump up X-23's ATK.
Final Word
X-23 is a fantastic hero that plays well in all aspects. I found this to be a pretty fun way to play with her mechanics. I want to think a deck like this could work for other ready heavy characters like Quicksilver but I think it's a card like Animal Instinct that makes this work for X-23 because she can do heavy thwart while setting up for 50+ damage Final turn.
Enjoy!

A friend with Build Support is going to help with setup though. In terms of the resource I could probably switch out Blood Rage and Sunfire for cards with icons. Though in the case of Blood Rage the ability to use it to ready X-23 rather than Grim Resolve or X-23's Claws is definitely appealing. Blood Rage does serve a similar purpose to Hall of Heroes though. |
Neat idea! I think you're right that this works much better for X-23 than for Quicksilver. You do seem very low on mental resources to pay for your second clobber every turn though.
Did you consider adding Hall of Heroes? With X-Mansion and Danger Room you're obviously planning some time in alter ego anyway, and it could potentially speed up your set-up time.
