Piotr Rasputin has become Headmaster to the X-Mansion
and now runs his school with rigor and discipline in a way old Chuck never could. Through remedial classes and after-school tutoring, his best students rise to the top over and over again. While he may be a strict teacher, if anyone ever comes threaten his students, Piotr will defend them day in and day out.
This deck is super fun to pilot and capitalizes on the two things that make Colossus unique in my opinion: His two "flip" responses, and Armor Up. The dream for this deck will see you ending most of your turns as Piotr, allowing access to that juicy juicy 6 card hand, and playing Armor Up every single villain phase for a villain cancel and card draw. Neutralizing a villain activation lets you spend time building up all of your extracurriculars. Lets talk about the lesson plan.
All the Supports!
This deck leans heavily on the plentiful X-Supports available, namely the X-Mansion. All of them help augment the actions you are already performing over the course of play, but X-Mansion brings your AE actions online. These "extracurriculars" are what you should focus on bringing into play on a first pass through the deck, with a secondary focus on your identity specific upgrades. Honorary X-Men is in there to keep Piotr an X-Man in AE. To really maximize your value from this deck though, you will want to be flipping every single turn, so let's talk about your Core Classes.
Its Piotr not Peter!
You should be ending every turn as Piotr, so that you can tutor the coolest event in the game, Armor Up, back into your deck. Now you get your 6 cards, and can Armor Up into the villain consistently so you can flip back down during your turn for to get Armor Up back in the deck. But we've got 2 copies of Armor Up! That's where Mutant Education comes in. Your #1 target for this is your other Armor Up, but if not possible then Organic Steel, or Bullet Proof Protector. You don't really want your attacks until later in the game, so if you only have 1 target for this card it's fine and you can still find value. Sometimes, you may want to shuffle in 0 cards with this to ensure pulling Armor Up in your draw step. X-Men Instruction is great too since your students will be running the show Montessori style for the most part while Piotr is busy tanking hits and working on art. You'll frequently find your students exhausting themself rather than taking hits, so your instruction helps see them back in class before no time.
Graduation and Beyond
Once you are fully online and a respected Headmaster you can start swinging for the Ivy leagues with your 5 allies and let loose some of that built up rage from managing your students all game long. None of them hit for insane values, but what they lack in strength they make up for in trained consistency brought about by only the finest of instruction.
This deck is real fun, and works excellent in multiplayer. You can sub in another Honorary X-Men if you are playing with a non-X-person, and/or another copy of each of your Core Classes if you feel the need. Storm can find a place if you think you'll have a place to put some extra threat. As always, have fun and stay in school!
Edit, other options to swap in: Forge, Unshakeable, Specialized Training.
