There isn't anything particularly new here, but after putting it all together the build worked really well. When testing the deck I was able to beat Ronan on expert consistently. This is quickly becoming my go-to deck if a scenario is annoying me and I need to get revenge.
Funnily enough most of the ideas for this started out from a Hulk leadership deck I built, which uses Beast to recycle resources. The thing is, anything Hulk can do Captain Marvel can do, but better (poor Bruce).
But, there is more going on here with Sneak Attack and ally recycling. It is best to go through some of the main combos:
- Agent 13 with Alpha Flight Station for draw power. Can do it multiple times using Command Team. Or, with Helicarrier for extra discounts.
- Rapid Response and Make the Call with powerful enters play effects (particularly Beast and Nick Fury).
- Re-using Beast to search for Energy Absorption is amazing and allows you to play expensive cards. You want to ensure you always have a way to bring him back.
- Sneak Attack to bring in Avengers or S.H.I.E.L.D. allies (while in Alter-Ego).
- Sneak Attack + Command Team + Rapid Response. Cheat in an expensive ally such as Dum Dum Dugan or Goliath for cheap, let them die to consequential damage then bring them back with Rapid Response. With 2 Command Team you can even do this with Nick Fury. For the S.H.I.E.L.D. allies you do need to start in Alter-Ego to use Sneak Attack, then switch to Hero to use Rapid Response.
- In a pinch, if you have a Command Team with 3 counters on it, you can use the previous combo to play Agent 13, as she can ready Command Team. Also useful for a burst thwart.
- Med Lab really brings everything together when used with Spider-Woman. She only has 2 health so is easy to defeat with consequential damage. Once you have her on Med Lab, you can switch to Alter-Ego and play her to confuse the villain to stay safe from threat. This really helps to enable the Sneak Attack plays with S.H.I.E.L.D. allies.
- Generally absurd amount of drawing and resources. You can just play allies directly without Sneak Attack.
A few other notes on card choices:
- White Tiger will not work with Sneak Attack or Rapid Response, but is worth it for the card draw. However, she is good with Med Lab.
- I was often ending up with not enough space for allies, which is why The Triskelion is here.
- Rapid Response is often used on your turn after allies die to consequential damage, so you can play another straight away. Therefore, it is worth running 3 copies.
- There was only room for 2 Make the Call and 2 Sneak Attack, but with the draw power you see them often enough. They can also be stored under Black Panther.
- Band Together is great for removing villain accessories that require specific resources.
I don't think there is much else to cover, so hope you enjoy the deck. It is crazy how Captain Marvel has gotten even better in leadership.
