Update to build:

-Spider-Man

-Dauntless

+2 limitless stamina

TLDR: -Don’t let the aspect fool you. This is an aggressive deck. No defense cards to debate using.

-minimal setup. You have two copies of Organic Steel. The opening setup one is usually used more for an opening ally or for your more necessary upgrades. You can always shuffle it back in if you really miss it when you first flip. You will swap often.

-your allies are your thwart. Don’t be afraid to have them go down to consequential damage. You will rarely need a chump block. Kurt and Kitty are the targets for Protective Training but you can also buff Polaris because why not?

-this leans more solo. You could swap out Fighting Fit for Powerful Punch or Never Back Down for Multiplayer, but again this is a damage build. Pair with justice.

Colossus has been my favorite X-Man since the 90’s, and I wanted to find a deck that “feels” the most like Piotr. This deck does just that, creating a scene where Colossus is telling the team “Go. I’ll take big one.”

This is a green aggression deck, having no defense cards* and leaning into Colossus’ amazing defenses to cover that side. It utilizes his ability to stay at full health with the never used Fighting Fit operating as Steel Fist light. Tackle and Steel Fist function as really strong CC, and much easier to utilize than Drop Kick over in aggression.

As you’ve seen or will see in Colossus decks, his biggest issue is Thwarting. Protection is far and away better at ally threat management than Aggression, and this deck stacks 6 Allies that can handle the threat while you take down the Villain. Polaris help keeps tough up, helps ping enemy toughs, or an emergency thwart. Protective Training keeps your X-men allies thwarting for longer, but do not(!) be afraid to let an ally go out to consequential damage in order to thwart. You will rarely need a block. You will often need a way to deal with a sudden side scheme, which protection has no other options for. Iron Will helps a lot, but not enough to rely solely on. It also gives the great visual, again, of Colossus directly engaging the Villain while the rest of the team takes care of the other problems.

Biggest weakness of the deck (and Colossus in general) is Retaliate. You can swap Fighting Fit for Hard Knocks, but so far I really like the one less resource for more damage and tough’s aren’t the…toughest to get. You have 4 rec and will be swapping down often so don’t stress there. I will probably swap Dauntless with Endurance to help with that too.

As far as setup it’s really minimal. Organic Steel isn’t the most important card in your arsenal so don’t worry about using the opening one in your hand as a resource for more important ones like Iron Will and Titanium Muscles, or if you need early threat removal for an ally. You even have two if you have buyer’s remorse, but I’d rather pay for something else with it, and I think Perseverance does what it wants to do better in most cases for Colossus and his tempo. Swap down when you can with a confuse or if the main scheme is going to advance anyway and you need the better card draw. Steel Fist and Bulletproof Protector are always the cards I'm looking at first to shuffle back into the deck with my AE ability.

Spasibo for checking this out, tovarisch and let me know what you think! Until then, go, you take big one now.
