Finally a solid use for Vigilante Training - as Black Widow, you'll already be going Alter-Ego a lot. Using Vigilante Training to keep cycling Homeland Intervention is the driving force behind this deck. One Homeland Intervention equals 6 thwarting for effectively 0 cost. That's one heck of a ratio.

The allies are all the most valuable SHIELD allies available in Justice. Mockingbird is another strong candidate but, with how often you'll be in Alter-Ego and the growing prevalence of Steady/Stalwart, I decided to leave her out - she's definitely a good option if you need to substitute someone. Quake is also an extremely good option.

While this deck relies on Homeland Intervention, the one weakness of SHIELD decks is that they require some setup. Clear the Area and For Justice!, along with Under Surveillance, help you keep the threat under control until your SHIELD engine is fully built.

3x Field Agent is usually too many for their response, but they're cheap batteries for Homeland Intervention and, with three, you can burn one every turn on Agent 13. Agent 13 is your best card outside of Homeland Intervention and Field Agent's best target - use her response on Helicarrier and watch as she slowly refunds herself.

Sonic Rifle can be dropped against Stalwart or Steady villains, but I otherwise like it to cover Black Widow flipping down. Consider Mockingbird, Quincarrier or a Global Logistics to replace it as needed.

The new Monica Chang + Surveillance Team is extremely efficient but slow pace, only play her/spare Surveillance teams if the board is calm enough to do so. Sky-Destroyer, while it may seem unappealing, is a near-guaranteed 2 damage every turn - big worth, but not a priority to play early game if you have other key pieces.

Don't forget that Safe House #29 has the SHIELD trait - use this for Homeland Intervention early on and whenever you're in hero form.

Mulligan priorities: Under Surveillance, Government Liaison, Safe House #29

Due to having to set other cards up for Homeland Intervention, I recommend this in 2-4 person multiplayer where the threat threshold is larger and you can lean on another player for turns 1 and 2. Homeland Intervention will often be too much thwarting for solo as well.

Good luck!

Sweet mercy, an even more combo-heavy tech deck for BW? Count me in. I'll probably change 3~4 cards for personal style but otherwise I can't wait to run this when my box arrives.

Great Deck Build! When I saw these cards released I couldnt wait to build BW. I tried Shield decks with both Black widow and Captain Marvel. Both were pretty OP. I have to say with vigilante justice/homeland combo Monica chang and the surveillance teams just didnt warrant the inclusion. Especially with Black Widow. For black widow I personally add War Machine, Quake, 2 Espionage (i guess depending on the encounter deck), and one spycraft. I do agree with the thwart event inclusion but I went with lay down the law due to the fact I was in alter ego mode most of the game but if the threat was bad I would flip for the extra thwart. Also I might die on this hill alone but due to black widows build I find I have a lot of card down on the table so I don't mind having more than 40 cards in her deck. Absolutely agree on the player count solo alter ego black widow is extremely inconsistent.

Good feedback! Quake is a great option who I've used in other SHIELD builds. I still like Monica/the Surveillance Teams, at worst they're easy set up for Homeland Intervention, but definitely not key parts.

I'm not a big fan of Espionage and Spycraft in general. I feel like Safe House #29 + Grappling Hook makes Spycraft redundant most of the time - but each to their own. If it works for you, that's awesome! I think one of the best things about Black Widow and SHIELD builds are that there are lots of little tweaks you can make and still keep the overall effect.

Lay Down the Law is better value, but is conditional on flipping down. The reason Clear the Area and For Justice! are here is for their reliability in the first couple turns until you can set up the SHIELD cards. If you also had a Leadership player or someone else thwarty to cover early threat for you? I would 110% substitute Lay Down the Law in.

Agreed on all of your points. I wanted to focus on keeping natasha in alter ego mode for the majority of the game. There was a build on here that someone created that kind of worked but now we have all these shield cards. So my espionage, spycraft, quake and lay down the law are all for alter ego mode functionality that I would only use for her. I want to keep an eye on these comments and hope others give me some more ideas on how to tweak it.

I dont have vigilante training yet I need to get that to make the homeland intervention really work.

This deck was very fun! I think I flipped Natasha to hero form once the entire game! This chick was a thwarting beast in my match against Sandman (teamed her with Miles).

I'm a year and a half late to the party, but my group finally decided to start playing some Marvel Champions again. I love this deck idea, so I am building something similar. I'm curious about one thing though, and I didn't see anybody else mention it. Why is Government Liaison a mulligan priority for you if you plan on staying in Alter-Ego mode for most of the game?
