Hercules does not begin the game as a legend. He earns it.
This deck is built around completing Hercules' Labors as quickly as possible, surviving the difficult setup, and emerging on the other side with an engine that can control the game almost effortlessly.
The Labors are demanding, and that's exactly why Teamwork is one of the most important cards in the deck. Allies such as Giant-Man, Gilgamesh, Thor, Wonder Man, and Heimdall bring large printed stats that Hercules can borrow through Teamwork, giving him the extra push needed to complete his Labors without wasting precious turns.
Getting those expensive allies into play is where Recruitment Drive shines. Set it up in alter-ego, then turn a costly ally into a free play. Call for Backup provides another way to put exactly the right champion onto the battlefield without paying the normal price.
Those allies aren't disposable resources, either. They fight beside Hercules, lend him their strength through Teamwork, and eventually, when their story ends, "Avenge Me!" turns their defeat into two fresh cards. Every stage of an ally's life contributes to Hercules' game plan.
Meanwhile, completing Labors earns Hercules his Gifts, and those Gifts gradually transform The Gift of Battle from a solid attack into something absurd. At three Gifts, it becomes 5 damage for 0 resources. The hero who struggled through his early Labors suddenly starts throwing around enormous value almost for free.
That's the defining rhythm of the deck.
The opening can be rough. Hercules has work to do, allies to recruit, Labors to complete, and an engine to assemble. But every completed Labor makes the next stage easier. Every Gift represents another piece of the legend falling into place.
And once everything is established, the game changes.
Hercules has allies providing massive stats, powerful Gifts accumulated from his Labors, efficient attacks, strong card flow, and enough tools to answer virtually anything the villain puts in front of him.
Complete the Labors. Gather the Gifts. Become the legend.
The hard part is becoming Hercules. Once you get there, the villain has the problem.
