I thought it might be nice to publish decks that use more readily available product, as there are likely some new players joining that are looking to use what they can purchase rather than feel left out for not having all the OOP cards. For the first set of this series, I'm going to stick to core set heroes. This should help give new players an idea of what they should buy after getting the core set and playing the game a few times.
This build uses the core set, Civil War, Hercules, and Luke Cage. These should be fairly readily available, though Luke Cage is in high demand as of this deck's creation. If you have already acquired the packs needed for the previous deck builds in this series, then you'll have everything you need.
On to the deck!
She-Hulk is difficult to build solo not just with cards that are in-print right now, but under the entire current environment. She's high ATK but her threat removal is locked to her alter-ego side, which is part of her design; you're supposed to flip back and forth to take advantage of her identity abilities and her AE hand size. This can be fun when the cards go your way, but most of the time it boils down to a race to burn the villain down while watching the threat steadily tick up and up. This all changes if you have a second player willing to handle the threat, of course.
In the current environment, aggression can greatly boost her basic attacks (max 10 ATK!!!) yet doesn't have enough thwart support and can't really leverage her high ATK as well as in the legacy environment. Protection has great cards to run if you don't play allies, which helps with surviving in hero but doesn't help with threat or hand size, making it feel like you're exhausting during the villain phase, getting chewed up by minions, and doing nothing during the player phase. Justice solves the threat removal issue but slows down her damage capability. There's a slim balance in justice that almost works for her but just isn't quite there within current environment. What she needs is a team.
So we're going back to leadership for She-Hulk.
With this build, there are expensive cards like Avengers Mansion and Nick Fury, which you will likely only be able to play in AE form. That's okay here because they both will get you much needed card draw to better set up for your hero flip. Quincarrier and Helicarrier help lower costs, and the Quincarrier also works with Superhuman Law Division without affecting your hand. Keep in mind you need to be in hero form to play Quincarrier.
Iron Lad should pal around with Deathcry, getting you 4 ATK until Iron Lad is defeated. Then play Make the Call and do it again. Hawkeye helps hinder the minions, and Iron Fist can block anything with a 1 or 2 ATK for as long as he's in play.
"Avenge Me!" can only be played in hero mode and is absolutely worth playing on any ally you intend to be defeated. I don't recommend putting it on Nick Fury unless you're certain he'll take enough damage during a block, as he is discarded at the end of the round, not defeated. Maria Hill is always an excellent target, as she doesn't stick around long once she's played.
Assess the Situation is here to improve your hand size but also to provide some disposable mental energy for Superhuman Law Division.
Mockingbird should be used strategically if you have Superhuman Strength in play, as attacking a stunned enemy won't force you to discard Superhuman Strength.
Swaps!
I tested so many different versions of current environment solo She-Hulk that I thought would work only to watch them crash and burn when played. This was the first build that showed consistency so I don't have much to recommend here. At one point I found myself wishing I had a Limitless Stamina or two to ready She-Hulk. I also thought about Innate Inspiration, as having that one extra hit point might help. Righteous Purpose is worth considering for a last gasp attack or thwart if you so choose, though my playthroughs showed there weren't many allies staying long enough to make it work. I kept returning to Make the Call and "Avenge Me!" as the working strategy.
Leadership's ally strategy will likely remain the stronger build in current environment due to such strong base cards in the core set. For now, She-Hulk needs allies to smooth out the quirks of her kit.
