NOTE: Decks I build are focused on theme and fun. While I aim for strong performance, I prioritise storytelling, synergy, and cinematic moments. Most decks are tuned for Standard villain difficulty, not Expert.

Ideal For

  • Players looking for a thematic 2-player Gamora deck to play alongside Nebula in the Justice aspect. This Aggression deck focuses on Stun lock, and chaining attacks with builds coming from Nebula. Perfect for players who enjoy rushing and delivering the massive blow through well planned out combo plays with their partner.

Mode & Playstyle

  • 2 Players (paired with Nebula Justice: Confuse Lock / Side Scheme Support - SS Thematic Decks called "Confusing Double Agent".)

  • Complexity: 3/5

  • Archetype: Stun Lock • Event Rush • Combo Finisher

  • Rush ⟵ Tempo ↤ Control

  • A burst-focused deck that relies on careful timing with Nebula's Confuse lock, Sonic Rifle setup, side scheme support, and off-turn coordination to create explosives chains of attack.

Theme

  • Gamora is wanting to prove she is more than Thanos' weapon. Beneath the reputation of the galaxy's deadliest assassin is someone searching for purpose, family, and a chance to define herself.

  • This deck represents the moment when Gamora and Nebula begin moving beyond rivalry. While Nebula works from the shadows to create opportunities, Gamora steps into the spotlight, proving that the sisters were stronger together.

Hook

  • The goal is simple: overwhelm the villain with devastating chains of attack that benefit from Nebula's supportive build. Play Clobber first to refund itself, then use Plan of Attack to tutor a precise event directly into your hand, such as Drop Kick to draw a card, followed by Press the Advantage for even more draws! To make things better, every single attack event chips in extra damage thanks to Gamora's Sword or perhaps Float Like a Butterfly :

  • Take advantage of Nebula's Confuse lock in a few ways:

1: Flip more into alter-ego to prepare Gamora's next explosvie round with more card with her alter-ego action Gamora and from her Conditioning Room.

2: Nebula's Float Like a Butterfly helps us chip more damage to the enemy.

3: Draw more cards from Press the Advantage.

4: Keep the main scheme low for efficient use of Clear the Area or buy us more time to rush the villian down.

Tips for building our upgrades

Tips for the Sister Combo

  • Many of the Nebula's aspect upgrades / supports exist to enable Gamora:

  • Float Like a Butterfly, Skilled Investigator, Sense of Justice and Stealth Training are included primarily to improve Gamora's damage and consistency. Some have two copies to improve seeing them early.

  • The strongest plays often come from coordinating both sisters' turns together. Setting up effects during one hero's activation can allow the other sister to trigger them for a bigger combo.

  • For example, Nebula's Sonic Rifle is valuable not only for maintaining a consistent Confuse lock, but because it is a Hero Action. As the second player, Nebula can Confuse the villain during Gamora's turn, allowing Gamora to then immediately benefit from Press the Advantage or Float Like a Butterfly.

  • Similarly, Nebula's Lethal Intent can trigger Techniques during Gamora's turn, allowing Nebula to use the techniques more before they are discarded from her hero's Forced Action.

Build / design choices

  • The new Rules Reference v1.8 allows Daughters of Thanos to replace the identity specific Gamora ally, effectively keeping the deck at 40 cards.

  • There are intentionally no allies in this deck. Thematically, Nebula and Gamora are learning they only need each other rather than relying on anyone else.

  • Mechanically, this also balances the pairing. Confuse-Lock from Nebula alongside Stun-Lock from Gamora is already extremely powerful. No allies puts the pressure solely on the sisters with the added cinematic tension.

  • Godslayer was considered but omitted. Although it delivers greater damage and helps the efficiency of Lock and Load, tunnelling Gamora's basic action to ATK alone carries the opportunity cost of efficient turns from her THW against side schemes, or helping to trigger card draws from Clear the Area.

Storytime

Gamora works constantly to distance herself from Thanos. Beneath her reputation as an assassin is someone searching for family, purpose, and a new beginning. She steps out of the Conditioning Room with her Martial Prowess fully honed. With Gamora's Sword, she enters the battle on her own terms to forge her own destiny.

The rivalry between the sisters shifts on the battlefield. While Nebula confuses the enemy in the background, Gamora stuns them head on. Using her Keen Instincts to coordinate a Plan of Attack, she uses it to Set the Pace of the combat. Fuelled by The Power of Aggression, she blindsides the target, chaining Clobber, Press the Advantage, a precise Cutupper, and a heavy Drop Kick into a seamless assault.

Gamora secures the victory, but she recognises this was made possible by Nebula Going Undercover with Unyielding Persistence. Standing back-to-back in a Wide Stance as the Daughters of Thanos, Gamora sees that Nebula no longer has an Inferiority Complex. They are here to win together.
