“Professor Snikit? Professor Snikit? Do you really think it’s a good idea to pair an unstable, immortal mutant with an invasive, uncontrollable alien parasite? Professor?”
Mouhahahahaha!
Born from the twisted depths of my dear friend Snikit’s diseased brain, I present to you a deck built around the idea we developed in the following video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnU3nWZMCT4): The Snikit Experience.
The main combo
If, like me, you don’t enjoy playing Symbiote Suit because the payoff isn’t worth the trouble, let me introduce the card Mitigated Threat.
For the cost of one card at the end of the round, you gain an extra card, a +10 HP boost, and +1 to each of your stats. But most importantly, you lose the hazard icon. Since the cost of the card is completely negated by its benefits, it’s 100% free value.
Deadpool Combo
Why Deadpool? Even though his stats are decent, his inability to ready doesn’t make him an obvious target for Symbiote Suit. What interests us is precisely his HP pool, which—thanks to Deadpool—becomes an endless source of damage and thwarting.
When you’re at full health with the Suit, you can use Yoo-hoo and Maximum Effort to deal up to 19 damage or 19 thwart with a single card. And if you only reach 18, you can chain into This Card Is Fire to deal another 18 damage.
This isn’t new—I already used this combo three years ago for my “1 villain 1 turn” challenge .
But with Mitigated Threat, you gain the ability to slow down your setup and make the strategy far more reliable.
Another Deadpool Combo
Since we’re playing green, we’ll take advantage of Deadpool’s other strengths:
-
Dr. Sinclair: Your REC is 8, or 9 with the Suit. That’s huge, but still not enough to recover your 19 HP under the Suit. With Dr. Sinclair, you have an efficient way to return to full health for just one resource.
-
Toughen Up: Every time Deadpool heals, he’ll return to at least 9 HP—his base health. So the card will trigger every time you use REC. Be careful though: Tough prevents you from activating certain mechanics, notably Maximum Effort, so use it sparingly to buy time.
-
Endurance: +3 HP means +3 damage! (Professor Snikit’s note: YOU ARE REQUIRED to play the card featuring Wolverine.)
Which Archetype?
When your hero kit can deal 21 damage or 21 thwart, the only viable archetype is one focused on hero cards:
- X-Mansion + Mutant Education: The most obvious combo. Deadpool frequently flips to alter-ego, X-Mansion can heal an extra damage, and Mutant Education lets you shuffle back your key events—plus your alter-ego ability can fetch it.
And if you play Moira MacTaggert, you draw a card when flipping back to hero.
-
Taunt: Draw 3 cards, and it can flip you to alter-ego to restart the engine.
-
Superpower Training: Essential to bring It Ain’t Over… onto the main scheme so you don’t get killed by acceleration tokens.
-
Second Chance: To bring your hero cards back again, since they’re the core of the archetype.
-
What Doesn't Kill Me: You’ll almost always have 2 damage to heal, and combined with your +1 base stats, it can be very strong.
Classic Deadpool
Armed to the Teeth can combine with Sonic Rifle or Hand Cannon. Need I remind you that you have infinite ammo on your chosen weapon by alternating regularly with the Deadpool's Katana?
Does it beat Rhino Standard?
I have no idea—I haven’t played Standard in years. However, this deck handles Klaw, Magneto, and Kingpin Expert with ease, which are my current test dummies.
It’s great! I love when someone pushes everything to 11, a distorted electric guitar solo of marvel champions.
