This is a deck in a series I'm putting together using only cards from Agents of Shield onward (AoS+). Even though so much of Marvel Champions is inaccessible to new players, it's still a game for everyone!
Shuri loves to get extra activations. Each time she takes a basic action, she triggers her Black Panther upgrades for additional impact. Unfortunately, we don't have a whole lot of options for readying her to take advantage of those special abilities. Besides Tenacity. But, I mean...no.
What's a Black Panther to do? Enter Grapnel Launcher. This card has a lot going for it. First, it gives us an additional basic activation, especially useful on the first turn when we want to grab an upgrade in Alter-ego, then trigger to get the opening board under control. Second, if we don't need it right away we can put it on the board and wait for the right time to use it. Third, it's a tech item...wait...what? It's not tech? That's...weird. Someone's going to have to explain that one to me.
Cloak and Dagger offer up a nonstop cycle of ally support. Between Energy, The Power of Justice, and Vibranium, we shouldn't have much trouble getting Dagger back out any time she hits the discard, so don't be afraid to block with her if you're in a pickle. Hawkeye gives us access to a lot of damage, and Squirrel Girl is just crazy good. We've got enough energy resources floating around in the deck to make Captain Marvel worth a try, too.
(Alternatively, you could swap out Cloak, Dagger, and Captain Marvel to add in the Dora Milaje package: Aneka, Ayo, Okoye, and Dora Milaje. You'll need to find one more card to drop to keep it at 40, or just accept, like many of us have, that 41 cards is the true deck size. This is a very powerful combination of cards that really feeds into The Elephant's Trunk, and they come in Shuri's pack anyway, so can be included with fewer purchases.)
Dynamic Duo is a bit of a wildcard pick, but it serves two purposes here. First, it lets us tutor T'Challa and play him just about whenever we like (outright on a 6-card hand, or with a single extra resource on 5-card). Second, if we're rich enough - which, between Helicarrier, Avengers Mansion, The Elephant's Trunk, and our resource cards, should be early and often - we can play T'Challa and Heart of the Panther on a single turn. A huge turn. We're not leaning on it too heavily, but it's a nice option. We have 2 Dynamic Duo in the deck because it's a strong opening play - Shuri grabs an upgrade from the deck and tutors T'Challa at the same time - and it can be an extremely strong play down the line.
Stealth Training should be easy to activate thanks to Kimoyo Beads. For Justice! is here both for the thwarting and the energy resources. Use your hero activations to either attack or defend, while the Grapnel Launcher, your allies, and your upgrades handle threat.
