Since Gambit's charge counters increase damage output and not Gambit's ATK stat, they are still effective when The Best Offense... is in play.
Counter-Punch seems particularly good for Gambit over other heroes using the Ronin build. The Best Offense... ignores modifiers to ATK, but his charge counters are not boosting ATK they are boosting damage dealt. Fully built out and using 3 charge counters that's 10 damage for a ZERO cost event.
Nerves of Steel, X-Gene, and X-Jet are all resource generators able to pay for different things. Use Natural Agility with Stop Hitting Yourself whenever possible.
