WINNING HAND podcast Episode 101: Cameo
X-Factor (1986 - 1998)

The 1990s relaunch of X-Factor was a defining era for the team, featuring some of acclaimed writer Peter David's most celebrated work. In issue #71, Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) joined a new roster led by Havok. Pietro was a particularly unlikely member of this squad. Expect the unexpected when it comes to X-Factor!

A perfect opportunity for a Marvel Champions Cameo. It was during the '90s X-Factor run that Angel became Archangel at the hands of Apocalypse. This deck will blend X-Men and X-Force allies featured in some way during this series, because comics. Angel pairs well with Quicksilver because when the ally is played from hand you can ready your identity. That's Pietro's bread and butter.
Command Team is included to accelerate usage of allies, to get more activations before they are defeated by an enemy attack, drawing two cards with Avenge Me! attached, then coming back to hand since Regroup was played in the hero phase. Especially important as Angel needs to be played from hand to trigger a ready of Quicksilver/Pietro.
The very beginning of X-Factor in '86 featured the original X-Men team reuniting. Many of these characters are Leadership allies, so this deck has Beast, Cyclops, and Phoenix. Bookending Peter David's work, M: Money St. Croix is in a later iteration of X-Factor Investigations in the early 2000's.
In alter-ego, Suit Up will find an ally and a copy of Avenge Me! in deck or discard. Use Leadership Training to shuffle Suit Up back into the deck.
Woh, this is awesome. I don't have Regroup, but maybe Make the Call is a fine substitute. Great work as usual!
