I had spotted someone else using Mockingbird in a Cameo deck and it put me to thinking about who could also make good use of her. I settled on Star-Lord.

With Star-Lord's ability to reduce card costs, his access to "Welcome Aboard", and Knowhere benefitting from her becoming a Guardian with him. Recurring Bobbi is both easy and very useful. Plus she helps keep Star-Lord alive.

Since you're not going to be keeping her out, you can ignore the temptation to make this a Sidekick deck and instead focus on cycling both Mockingbird and your other allies. You have the ever-useful Rapid Response to aid with this (and to give you a different option for having Mockingbird block if you don't want to pay for her return next turn), you also have Med Lab for those times when you want to use your last ally HP for an attack or thwart.

Speaking of allies attacking and thwarting, Blaze of Glory is here to let you go all out with your allies. Rapid Response pairs well with Blaze of Glory, as the bonus damage will trigger it. Other fun tricks are to play Slingshot using her special ability (maybe using Clarity of Purpose to get the energy resource), have her activate with Blaze of Glory, take the consequential and bonus damage, but still have 1hp left to return to you hand at the end of the phase. For all your allies except Drax and Gamora, you can also avoid having them take the bonus damage from Blaze of Glory just by flipping to alter-ego after they activate. Since they are no longer Guardians when you are in alter-ego, no bonus damage.

You have all your usual Star-Lord hijinks with the rest of his deck. Leader of the Guardians is a nice upgrade to get out if you get the chance, although his Element Gun is also top-of-the-list.
