Groot's Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, there was a sprout. A twig really!! Just a stick. A mere sapling. And though the world was against him, he was brave and courageous and wanted more out of life. He was, however, young and naive and living on an orchard being taken care of by his mammal caretakers.

But he was missing parents. And social services showed up with governmental authority and assigned the small branch a few guardians to watch over him. At first it was a major victory to have these hairy creatures watching over him. But his heart was to get more and more out of his branches. He wanted to leave his planet and see the wild blue yondu. To see the cosmos. To see a star. To see a nebula. So with hope of hopes one summer day, he got on the next rocket and left the planet.

Oh, drax! The universe was amazing. He had several guardians watch over him and then leave one by one. And during that time, he grew and grew and grew. Sometimes his hope would help with his fruition to grow even more. Then he continued to grow until he was 10 rings old. His guardians protecting him from every deadly attack and then regroup to do it over and over again.

So after years and years and ending up going no where at all, he was determined to make a name for himself. So with a little focus, the branch (well more like a tree by now) was now finally able to say ...

I am Groot.

or more importantly (and I hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree)...
